Exactly.

Who cares who is at QB?

This really made me laugh. +1 to you.

Exactly. Which is when he got injured.

And even with a fractured thumb, Minshew played better than the two yokels that Baloney Boy rolled out there since.

Hey, imagine how he might play now that he's healthy again. He might have another near flawless performance like he did against the Colts where he set an all-time NFL Record for accuracy (and would've thrown the only perfect game in NFL history if #10 doesn't drop one that him him square in the hands). But we wouldn't want that now, would we?

I mean, it's obvious the team is tanking. There's no sane person who looks at these QBs and says "Mike [BLEEP] Glennon is our best shot to win a game" it's just simply not true. Minshew is in the doghouse and what potential he could have had to develop is getting squandered. Even if he wasn't going to turn into our true franchise QB (which I still think was possible) he was always our best chance to win.

Classic Jags.

Minshew deserves one more look. His stats are the best out of the three qbs.. glennon is a known. This season is over. At least entertain the fans by putting #15 in in there

Are we going to mention that a lot of Gardner Minshew stats are garbage time and check down to running backs or that only gets mentioned when it comes to Blake Bortles. LOL. Let's move on and get a real QB because the quarterbacks we have on the roster is not adequate at this time.

Lets just remember

Minshew 65.9% pass completion, 1855yds passing, 13 TD's 5 Ints

Luton 54.5% pass completion, 624yds, 2 TD's, 6 Int

Glennon  62.3% pass completion, 515 yds, 3 TD's 2 ints

Please, whats wrong with you guys? This isnt even close.

The Minshew hate is strange. He wasn’t amazing but some on this board make it seem like he was awful. He’s clearly the best qb on the roster.

He doesn’t deserve anything.

And entertain the fans? No one cares anymore. Another double digit loss season. A few meaningless wins won’t suddenly change how most people care about this season. It was a stepping stone to building the future. Accumulating assets and getting the cap right to start competing in 2021 with a new QB, HC and GM.

Most people saw this coming before the season started where other people said “but hey. No one said we would be good in 2018! It can happen again!”

The board: "Minshew gives us the best chance to win"

Me: "Why are we mad about him riding the bench again?"

This may also come down to familiarity with the playbook. If Jay has added things in since early in the season, Glennon may have more experience running it, and is just good enough to guide us to a competitive loss. That's the perfect outcome, in my book.

Yeah, doesn't really matter at this point.

The QB room of the Jags at this point is just about what the next GM wants to do with his chess pieces.
Hopefully he picks the right back-up/contingency plan. Even if it's not from this roster.

Very true. Honestly, I'd like to go into next season with whoever we draft (still holding out hope for Trevor) and Minshew and let them battle it out. Hopefully a competent GM/HC will be able to at least maximize potential and play the best player. But if we're keeping a QB from the current roster into next year as the backup, Minshew is the most logical IMO

I feel bad for the dude, I think he could be a top 10-12 QB in this league in the right circumstances. He won't ever be elite or a top 5 guy, but I think he is certainly starter-worthy in the NFL. People are quick to dump on this guy, but he's only in year 2.

Josh Allen in year 1-2 had 30 tds and 21 ints. Year 3 - 26 tds 8 ints. You can't give up on a QB because you don't have Pat Mahomes, he's 1 in a generation/lifetime. I would bet if GM got a shot in an offense catered to him with a decent team around him , he would ball out.

Maybe he’ll get one more game once we’ve locked up the number two pick

The problem is that Allen has the best arm in the NFL and Minshew has a wet noodle.  I love Minshew.  I bought his jersey.  But he just doesn't have the physical tools to be a high level QB.

I took Minshew as a guy who could keep his mouth shut and not air the teams dirty laundry. This is just additional reassurance that Marrone has zero control over this team, as indicated by their play, and will be let go first thing next month.

As far as Minshew. He can take a hike.

Noodle is a bit harsh. I'll leave this here. https://www.ourlads.com/story/default/Qu.../10243/dh/

Ball velocity is average. Yeah Allen was over 60 but Gardner was no worse than Daniel Jones, look at Lamar Jackson... The guy can play when he's healthy. I would like to see him starting with a defense that wont have him down 14-0 2 drives into several games this year. I think there is a good chance the new regime will pick a QB at 2 but Gardner will start the year off as QB1. I hope he does, so the rook can sit for a little while Gardner gets 1 more shot.

Combine velocity means next to nothing. Guys with weak arms like Minshew go in throwing as hard as possible to try to impress the radar gun. Guys like Lamar to can throw darts with plus velocity but questionable accuracy are trying to feather it in there to impress the scouts. You'd need radar guns during live games to get a meaningful MPH result.

Again, Minshew didn't have a "Noodle Arm" against the Colts or Titans this year. He threw plenty or darts up until he got hurt. And he looked every bit the part of a franchise QB up.....until......(wait for it..) ...he......got.....hurt.....

He didn't get hurt in week 3, it was in week 5. Try again.

Still, it was not like he was terrible the first 4 games of the season. The team as a whole was young and struggling. Minshew is the ONLY jags QB to win a game the past 2 seasons, despite the revolving door.
