I think Doug is a lot smarter than we give him credit for, and I think they are going to secure that number one pick by playing the guys that need to play (or don't need to play). If I knew I was getting fired, and cared for the team like Doug appears to, I would do what it takes to make sure the team got what is best for the team's future. He knows a win or two will not change his resume enough to get another had coaching job.
