That's college. Way different than the pros. In the NFL, it's a totally different animal. You will be dealing with hard headed adults and giant egos. For a coach with high blood pressure, migraines and other health issues, coming to the NFL is not a good idea.

I get that. And I have some reservations about the dude. But I think it was you who pointed out in reference to Trevor Lawrence that all we can go on is what we project about the guy.

A history of building successfull programs?  No lol, they are already built when he gets there, he wins and leaves.  He won those championships with other coaches recruits not his.

Sure, I care about how well he recognizes coverage and throws guys open. I'm not sure what the analogue is for college head coaches, but I don't think it's record, because winning in college is nothing like winning in the NFL.

Well Ohio State still has his players as you pointed out, give them a couple more years to see. Florida has recovered since Mullin came on board but had some really down years after Meyer left, 4-8, 4-7 etc.

It's on and off. Tom Coughlin did pretty well in his early days. Jimmy Johnson did ok. Pete Carroll. There are others. I'm not arguing for Meyer but I'd rather have him over some crappy retread.

Yeah but TC and JJ were over 25 years ago. Carroll has done well, but he was an NFL HC before his college sabbatical.

None of the recent college coaching jumps have fared well. Ruling is still to be decided for Carolina and Matt Rhule, but it will be tough for them until they get a QB.
