I agree. He's going to be our backup for a few years and I like the guy.

Sure it does - a Jags win gives us worse draft position and a better draft position for the Colts.  2020 is a bust, time to think about 2021 and what is best for the team going forward.

So, you’re essentially implying that every single win in the history of our organization was meaningless because we haven’t won a Superbowl yet and we would have been better off losing out because of the almighty draft.

Like it or not, you could say the Jaguars have largely been in that position already, year after year, since Khan bought the team.  It hasn’t really helped us that much.

We’ve “won” the draft enough already.  I’d like to think Trevor would view a Jags win next weekend as a sign that there is still some fight in this team, and that he’s not expected to save it single-handedly.

Plus, we’d be sticking it to a division rival in the worst possible way.  That alone is worth the price of admission, so to speak.

I wouldn't want him to back up TL.  He plays a totally different style, and that means if he comes in, the game plan has to change.  I'd keep Glennon or get someone better.  We need someone who plays the same style as TL so we can have some consistency if the backup needs to come in.

I'd like to win and put Indy out of the playoffs, thats not a meaningless win at all. Not worried about switching draft position at the beginning of each round vs eliminating our enemy

Just poetic.

would be better if we were sweeping the tacks out of the postseason.

Agree, I am not worried about alternating picks. We already got 1st overall. After that it doesn’t matter that much. Let’s knock the colts out of the playoffs. It’s the jags thing to do.

Yes, it's improvement, but it's Blaine Gabbert 2012 level improvement. - Pirkster

I was reading that there is a chance that the Tacks could miss the playoffs if the Colts beat us.

I’ve changed my mind, I hope we lose now.

Normally, I would agree.

But I consider this a revenge game against Rivers.. for all those years of torment he put us through. Let’s knock these fools out of the playoffs.

Let's lose and secure the #1 pick in Round 2 of the draft, which means huge leverage for trading or selecting the player that slipped through round 1.

Actually, I'd rather see the Colts win the division and not the Titans anyway.

Secure the Division title for the Titans since they never tormented Jag fans.  Uh OK, I guess.  smh

I disagree. I think they forced Minshew into a certain type of play this season based on Gruden's offense. You could run the same type of offense with Minshew as the backup to Lawrence.

I’d rather go 1-15 and get the first pick in every round.

Not if the Jets win too.

I thought about it and winning this game would be great only to avoid the black mark of a franchise worse 1-15 record

Yes, that is probable.  However, in the event they lose to the Texans, if the Ravens, Browns, Colts, and Dolphins win, then the Titans are out.  It is very likely the Steelers (vs Browns) and Bills (vs Phins) rest their starters so having the likelihood of the the Ravens, Browns, Colts, and Dolphins winning is not out of the question.

Quite honestly, I want the 1st pick in the 2nd round (main priority) and I really don't mind the AFC South getting 2 teams in the playoffs as it actually makes the conference look stronger.
