LOL.  Can you still buy the stuff or did you find it in the back of some cabinet when you were remodeling the kitchen?  I thought it went off the market in the 80's.

Just as a whim, I asked my wife to look for it when she went grocery shopping yesterday and she found some..

Kinda tastes like SunnyD..

The Double Clutch Transmission is so much more efficient and quick at making shifts. But I get you. It would be nice to be able to row through the gears with that much power underneath.

It's amazing how much more efficient modern cars are compared to older hot rods. Electronically controlled shift points and anti-lock brakes make huge differences.

I'm a fan of the show Road Kill. On occasion they'll take an old hopped up body-on-frame 60s muscle car and run it through a course against something like a modern Kia. Most of the time the Kia wins because the older cars are so difficult to control.

On the strip, a modern muscle car absolutely eviscerates old stock stuff. Modern Mopars are ridiculously powerful. I'm not a Dodge fan but I would take a Challenger or a Charger in a heart beat for a straight line car.

I really like the current Mustangs. They're low and wide and sleek but still look like a Mustang.

Camaros aren't bad but Chevy designed them too boxy. While they do pay homage to the 1st generation cars, it just didn't translate as well as Dodge and Ford were able to accomplish with theirs. It seems I read somewhere that Camaros will stop being produced this year, or next. They're just not selling well.

I have a friend with a 2018 Corvette ZR1 something or other. It's so powerful it's not even fun to drive.

I love my DCT!

It's even more fuel efficient than the manual, more responsive than a conventional automatic, and you can be lazy driving it.  No counting, no listening to the engine, use one foot only, it's awesome. You can even shift manually if you really want to.

I want to see DCT on every non-hybrid car
My fellow southpaw Mark Brunell will probably always be my favorite Jaguar.

The new corevettes looks sweet.  Really beautiful cars! I’ve seen a bunch over in my area.  There about three or for I keep seeing.  I can’t afford one, but they look amazing.

I still like the looks of the older stuff, but what a world of difference between the 60's and today.  Back then automatics were only 3 speed (unless your Chevy had the dreaded Powerglide).  New electronically controlled transmissions shift faster than is humanly possible with a standard.

Just a few of the other improvements and design testing we take for granted now;
Disc brakes on all 4 corners v. drum.
Radial tires v. biased ply.
Wind tunnel testing v. tailfins.
Rack & pinion steering v. box and linkage.
Independent strut suspension v. leaf springs.
Unibody construction.
Skidpad testing.
Chuck & stub axles v. straight tubes.
Aluminum and plastic components for weight reduction.
All the engine improvements, from spark plugs to overhead cams.

The report I heard on the Camaro (about 18 months ago) said 2023 would be the final year.
