Where's that one Tack homer that essentially called him Prime Time?

He got outplayed last season in Detroit by a late draft pick.  I would not be opposed to bring him in to compete/rotate for the nose, assuming he is on the cheap.  He is much younger than Al Woods.  Interested to hear D6's opinion on him.

I probably have a more favorable opinion than Danny Shelton than most do.  Shelton wasn't as consistent against the run ( he was a little better as a pass rusher than I expected ) in his one season with the Lions as my expectation were going into the season. But three positives stood out:

1. Shelton was a mentor for 6th Round pick John Penisini, who became a starter in October.

2. Shelton displayed hustle down the field when many players much lighter than him would have quit on plays.

3. Shelton suffered a knee injury in the Thanksgiving Day game loss to the Texans. He was placed on short term IR. Despite the Vikings-Lions season finale game being between two teams with guaranteed losing records and no playoff chance, Shelton worked his way back to play in this game. He was bright spot in the game on a Lions Defense that gave up 38 points, in a 38-36 Vikings win.

Unlike with the other 7 Lions salary cap causality players ( CB Desmond Trufant, CB Justin Coleman, LB Christian Jones, TE Jesse James, QB Chase Daniel, G-C Joe Dahl, and C Russell Bodine ) that have been released or will be soon released unless traded, I'm disappointed that the Lions are releasing DT Danny Shelton. I think that Shelton could have potentially been part of a winning solution when the overall team is much further along. I was hoping for the two parties to work out a satisfactory agreement that would have kept Shelton on the roster.

Pitts will be long gone before pick 1-25.

25 + 46 = 13. I'd imagine the diminished salary cap will inflate JJs' draft chart considerably

Meyer saying how much we need to add speed to the offense would fly directly in the face of these Juju rumors. And the blocking TE we signed. Maybe he still has that good ol Urban Liar in him after all.

I too was a True Fan of his prior to him entering into the NFL. The Seahawks gave him a chance and he stuck. He didn't play that much BUT he prevailed and now we're extending that chance/opportunity. It even may be a package deal but Whom Cares. He'll be a Jaguar...

I really like this one (as long as the money is right).

He will be super reliable for Lawrence. Chark, Jones and Viska. I like it.
