First, good job going 7 rounds! Not easy.
Regarding the Jaguars' portions of the mock, I would hate the Rousseau pick at 25. Here's a guy who is a converted WR, who has one year of experience on the DL two years ago, who got most of his sacks rushing from the inside who will preumably project to edge rusher in a 3-4? Hard pass.
I really like the Mayfield pick at 33. That pick minimally drastically improves the depth on the right side of the OL, but most likely upgrades RT.
On a base level, I can't complain too much about Cox at 45, though given how your draft went, I think I might have gone with one of the receivers there at 45.
Stearns at the top of the 3rd makes sense, and I love the 4th round picks under the circumstances.
I would think Pittsburgh fans would be happy with that draft. I would hate Eichenberg to Indy, and Paye and Jordan to tennessee.
Worst to 1st. Curse Reversed!

Sorry about the spacing. This thing is driving me crazy! It looks fine when I preview it, but then when I add it into the thread, the spacing keeps messing up!
This is in no way, shape or form, what I want the Jaguars to do. This is solely how I see the draft shaking out, based upon free agency and what has gone on up to this point.

I agree. This is why I see Jaelan Phillips and Kwity Paye going before him, even though most mocks have Rousseau going first. If he falls to the Jags though, I can see them selecting him based upon him being the BAP.
Personally, I hate the Mayfield selection. I don't see him as much of an upgrade at the RT position. I'd much rather have Spencer Brown, who has much better athleticism and footwork, but based upon how much Warhop is influencing Meyer, I think they will select Mayfield.
To me, Cox is one of the best selections in this draft. That kid is all over the field and makes plays a variety of ways. I believe he is much better than anything we have at LB right now.
I agree about the 4th round. Given how much Meyer wants to emphasize speed, Yeboah should fit the type of big play TE he would covet. I'm also a big fan of Ben Cleveland who has experience at OG and Center.
Agreed. I would've loved Eichenberg, but Indy desperately needs a LT and given how this draft goes, I think Eichenberg is a good fit. Vera Tucker just seems like the type O-Lineman Pittsburgh covets.

I might be more open to Rousseau coming here i we were still in a 4-3 and we had a vet like Calais Campbell to mentor him and give him the tricks to the trade to help develop him. Without those factors being present here, I would not want him here. In fact, I'd rather take Etienne at 25 than Rousseau.
So this mock-at least the Jaguars portion of it-is more a statement of the lack of faith you have in the FO/coaching staff as it is anything else?
It would not surprise me at all to see the Colts trade back from 21. Their current GM trades back all the time, and now he's without a 3rd round pick due to the Wentz trade. I could see the Colts moving back to the bottom of the first round, top of round 2 and still getting a LT and picking up an extra pick or 2.
I presume you put Cox inside. Would you project him to start? If so, over whom? Schobert was tasked to get the defense lined up but is not the athlete Jack is. Jack has struggled when asked to get the defense lined up, and the team is switching to a new defense.

Pretty much. I lost a lot of faith when they retained Warhop and starting saying how good our OT's were.
I don't see the Colts trading back, due to the lack of LT prospects in this draft. I know they like to trade back, but losing a starting LT is huge. Especially when you just traded for a young QB. If we've learned anything about Wentz, it's that he needs a clean pocket. I don't see that happening with the LT's they currently have on the roster. I really thought they might've taken a run at Riley Reiff. If they trade back any further, I don't see any LT prospects that could start right away.
I definitely put Cox inside. I'm a HUGE Jabril Cox fan. I could see him easily outplaying Joe Schobert and even Myles Jack. I could see him making Schobert expendable by the end of the 2021 season. That's when there is a potential out in his contract. Cox is my #2 ILB behind Zaven Collins. Collins is my #1 LB period, no matter the scheme or where you play him.

My picks would go:
Tlaw
Ojulari
Newsome
Elijah Moore
Molden
Ben Cleveland
D'ante Smith
Felton
Ardarius Washington
I wouldn't like that one either. Unless we come out of this draft with at least one new starting OT, this draft will be a failure imo. I also think we need more depth at ILB. I think we're o.k. at CB. We should add one more solid corner, but 2 would be overkill.
If I were making the picks and the draft shook out this way, I would select.
1. QB Trevor Lawrence
25. ILB Zaven Collins
33. OT Spencer Brown
45. C/OG Landon Dickerson
65. TE Hunter Long
106. OLB Elerson Smith
130. S Damar Hamlin
145. RB Kenneth Gainwell
170. WR Simi Fehoko
249. OLB Chris Garrett

I took Dante, you took Brown...that's basically a wash at OT. I also like Molden as a safety. He and Washington would be super fun together in a year or two. And to fix your ILB depth I'll take Hilliard with the 7th rounder I left blank.
I think Spencer Brown is a plug and play RT. Imo, Dante Smith is more of a project at LT. If you have Molden as a Safety, then you have us taking 2 Safeties with Ardarius Washington. Again, that seems like overkill imo, considering we do already have Wilson, Jenkins and Thomas.
Hilliard is a bit smallish and slow for a 3-4 scheme. He's barely 6' and only 229 lbs. with 4.8/40 speed and he ran the 3 cone in the same time the OSU NT did (Togiai.) I like my linebackers a little bigger and definitely more athletic.

I understand you don't have much faith in the Jaguars' FO/coaching staff, and it makes some sense the mock would reflect that. But there are teams that have had horrible offseasons-even worse than ours. Philadelphia has been stuck on stupid since the end of last season. Bears fans seem to hate their whole power structure-FO, coaches and now QB. Houston's dumpster fire has its roots in the O'Brien era, and has had a big can of gasoline added to it by Watson's off field trade demands and legal issues. Oakland has systematically dismantled their OL. Do you have faith in their decision makers? If so, why? If not, is your lack of faith reflected in the picks for those-and other -teams?

As for Collins, he considers himself to be an OLB, though i think he has the versatility to play inside.

I am not a fan of Wilson at all. He was decent in his limited time a couple of years back, but I have since soured on him. Agreed about the size and speed of 3-4 LBs.

Quote:I don't see the Colts trading back, due to the lack of LT prospects in this draft.

No I don't. I kinda do have that reflected on their picks. Some good, some terrible.
I think there is gonna be a huge run on LT's. I see no way Cosmi falls much further than where the Colts currently are and just a slim chance Eichenberg falls out of round 1.
Whatever Collins considers himself, ideally I see him as either a 4-3 WLB or a 3-4 ILB. I really think he could be something special at either position. I believe he would be a really good 3-4 OLB as well, but as a 3-4 ILB, I believe he has a chance to be an All-Pro. He's that good.
I'm not a fan of Wilson as a starting FS, but as a backup FS, I'm fine with him.

1. QB Trevor Lawrence
25. ILB Zaven Collins
33. OT Spencer Brown
45. C/OG Landon Dickerson
65. TE Hunter Long
106. OLB Elerson Smith
130. S Damar Hamlin
145. RB Kenneth Gainwell
170. WR Simi Fehoko
249. OLB Chris Garrett
I like Dickerson as a player. My thing is he is coming off a torn ACL. Will he be ready by training camp/regular season? Will he be perfectly healthy, or will he have setbacks like Cam Robinson had?
I want to see more of Fehoko since he has run such a good 40.
Landon Dickerson was doing multiple cartwheels today around Mac Jones as he was being interviewed and totally cracking him up. To see a big man doing something athletic like that convinces me he's healed. I don't believe the knee injury had anything to do with how Cam Robinson played this year. I just think he has plateaued. He is what he is. Dickerson I believe, is on a whole different level.
Early on, I thought Fehoko could be a developmental TE who should add some weight, but after seeing how incredibly athletic he is at 222 lbs and 6'4", I believe he should stay at WR. I see a more athletic version of a young Brandon Marshall with him. He made some amazing catches at Stanford. With a better QB, he could have been a day 2 pick. I love this kid.

That's good to know about Dickerson. I hope he's okay, but he should be careful. If I were a GM interested in him, I would cringe if I saw him doing that. BYW, this brings up one of the criticisms against Baalke, namely that he took too many draft chances on guys with torn ACLs. Sometimes that has paid off for some teams. Sometimes not. As for Cam, I believed his knee to be 100%. 2019...? Not at all. But he didn't seem to hurt or aggravate the injury from 2018 during 2019, and he seemed to have a good offseason regarding that knee last year. But I believe it was an issue in 2019.
I know nothing of Fehoko and need to do research on him. His 40 and your description have me intrigued.
