Redrafting 2019 NFL Draft #32 Minshew

#1

#3 Josh Allen DE
#28 Jawaan Taylor T
#32 Gardner Minshew QB

So the old regime, in the opinion of this reporter, drafted three players worthy of the first round. Nice to see that Minshew is valued as he is. Should net us at least a 3rd round pick in a trade. Tongue

https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2940...-nfl-draft

  1. What actually happened: Drafted WR N'Keal HarryWhere Minshew was actually picked: No. 178 overall by the Jaguars The New England Patriots entered the 2019 draft on a high note after winning Super Bowl LIII, but the team hasn't been past Wild Card Weekend since. The biggest reason for that is the departure of future Hall of Fame quarterback Tom Brady, who signed with the Bucs before the 2020 season. Knowing Brady is on his way out a year later, the Patriots could avoid having a tumultuous season with Cam Newton as their starter by selecting a quarterback. They have a handful of options from the 2019 class, including trying to get more out of Dwayne Haskins Jr. than Washington did or bringing along Drew Lock more effectively than the Broncos have. While both would fit the need and still have upside, Gardner Minshew II has been the most productive quarterback not named Kyler Murray from this draft class. The Washington State product was a sixth-rounder—making this the biggest leap up the board of any prospect in the redraft—but performed well across 23 appearances, 20 of them starts, since 2019.Although Jacksonville has only won seven of Minshew's starts, his numbers are respectable. He has completed 501 of 797 passes for 5,530 yards and 37 touchdowns against just 11 interceptions. He struggled with fumbles during his rookie season—coughing it up on 13 occasions—but got that issue under control last year with just five. Despite Minshew's impressive showings, the Jaguars are almost certain to move on from him soon to make way for Trevor Lawrence, the projected No. 1 pick in the 2021 draft. Minshew may end up in New England anyway, but the team would have been better served by drafting him instead of N'Keal Harry at No. 32.

Is this guy on drugs? Jawaan Taylor and Gardner Minshew being worthy of first round picks?

Taylor was considered a first round talent. I still think he can be a good player.

This just tells me Alex Kay needs to be fired for incompetence. Even as much as we love Josh Allen he wouldn't go before Quinnen, Sweat, or Burns in a redraft.

I'd still take Allen over Sweat and Burns and I think most GMs would too.  Either have yet to have a 10 sack year and Allen did it in his rookie year.  He was hurt most of last year but now gets to play in his natural position and I think he has a career year and back to the Pro Bowl with a much improved Chaisson on the other side

Yes, he still has a higher ceiling than those guys. He's gonna be Von Miller 2.0.

Of course you would because you are drowning in your own bias, I do not believe most GMs would. Those guys just had seasons considerably better than Allen's rookie year and did it without stacked defensive lines taking away attention like Allen did. It's not taking away from Allen to say that two of the best young and still rising EDGEs might be a tad better than him.

Lol, did it without stacked dlines like Allen did.  It's clear you didn't watch Washington this year who has arguably the best dline in the league.  Allen had CC but that's about it.  We shall see this year with a healthy Allen in a defense that is made for his game.

There is a reason Allen has made the Pro Bowl and the other 2 hasn't. I'll give you a hint, it's not because he plays in Jacksonville

Burns and Sweat have 2 good seasons under their belts. Allen was garbage this season.

I would take Sweat over Allen right now. I've watched Sweat and he is good vs the run too.
I haven't watched enough of Burns.

Sweat also plays on one of the best defensive fronts in the league and Allen, when healthy, was also good against the run.

Exactly, Allen was injured early and didn't even play the 2nd half the season.  Hard to make an impact when you're not even playing lol

Well Allen had his only good season with Campbell and Ngakoue and then he did nothing when both left so...

So you think they are both better than Bosa as well since Bosa only had one good season? It's also funny how you bring up Yawn like he was a big part of the success of Allen's rookie year lol.

So you would take Ngakoue over Chase Young and Campbell over both Payne and Allen...

It's funny because he's always said how overrated Ngakoue is yet he uses him as example of why Allen had a good year lol

Wow lol.

So ok, you say Allen making the pro bowl is worth something lol ok.
You know who hasn't made the pro bowl yet? Jonathan Allen and Daron Payne, you know who has made the Pro bowl? Yawn and Calais.
I've always said Yawn is a good pass rusher but not great.
Calais and Yawn left and suddenly we have no pass rush and Allen gets 2.5 sacks in 8 games.
Bosa played only 2 games this season, I am not gonna explain more, although I am sure you need me to.

Since you are one of those people who love to bring PPF grades

Pretty funny how Garrett being an All Pro meant nothing when you were arguing Chase Young is better but and now you say Josh Allen making the Pro bowl means something  Laughing
I love this board, all season people were like "we have no pass rush" "Allen has been a disappointment without Calais and Yawn" and now we are back to Josh Allen being almost an All Pro  Laughing
