What player would you be excited to see us draft?

Pat Friermuth at 45 would be pretty nice. Darrisaw somehow falling to us would be amazing.

By far the best edge in the draft, technique, fluidity, elite athletic ability. Would be a dream to have him opposite Allen in our defense and would boost pur pass rush immensely.

For those that have seen him play, can he play besides the speed (as sometimes these analysts can be overly picky or negative)?(04-24-2021, 10:03 AM)JagsFanClubOfMD Wrote: Anthony Schwartz (04-24-2021, 05:11 PM)Bullseye Wrote:I did not watch any Auburn games in the last couple seasons. We should be able to get him later in the draft. If Urban wants speed that translates to the football field then this kid has it. Samuel jr is pretty great, but Cullen's blitz heavy hybrid fronts require two stout press man outside corners...which is obviously the exact opposite of Asante. He would have to be exclusively a slot guy for us, is that worth a pick at 33? I'm not saying no, he might be that good. Just pointing out that he is a very bad scheme fit.
Really want Toney. I'm pretty happy with our WR core, but feel like we could be getting a true play maker, someone who could make plays just by getting the ball in his hands. Not sure how many times he gets out on the field during a game though, and if it wouldn't be better to draft someone who would play more snaps during a game.
I really like Brevin Jordan at 65 and I would not be mad at 45. He just screams excellent pass catching TE when I watched him play. I guess his work out numbers will drop him down some boards, bit he passes the eye test imo.
I am no great evaluator for OL prospects, but if the versatile AVT or Darrisaw fall to 25 that seems like a great way to help Lawrence out. In general, any piece that can make our new QB’s job easier will make me excited. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
I've seen some people on here say Christian Darrisaw and in an ideal world, that would be absolutely perfect. I see no way he falls to us though. In fact, I don't see any way Teven Jenkins falls to us and I have him rated lower than Darrisaw. I'd be thrilled for either of these guys, but it's not gonna happen. It's just not realistic.
Jaelon Dardon if we don't take a WR early. If you haven't seen him play, look him up on YouTube. It will be worth your time.

I think Darrisaw could go as high as 13 to the Chargers, with Minnesota at 14, Washington at 19, Chicago, and Indy as strong possibilities, too. Pittsburgh also has a LT need, but I'm not sure he's the kind of run blocker they'd want. As far as Jenkins is concerned, I think the Raiders at 17 represent his draft ceiling, but the Raiders do so many strange things, it wouldn't surprise me to see them pass him up despite value and need intersecting for Jenkins at that spot. I could also see Washington, Chicago, Tennessee and the Jets as possible landing spots for Jenkins. If the team were to trade up for a guy, both Darrisaw and Jenkins are guys I'd like for them to target. I think the team would be more apt to deal up for Jenkins, because there would be a better chance of him coming in immediately and starting. A few years back, the Chiefs had a WR/KR named Dante Hall. He had the nickname "the human joystick." Darden has that kind of ability. Worst to 1st. Curse Reversed!

For me its K Toney but im sure a lot of people like him. I'll be excited for anyone who fits value where they are picked that will also fit into our scheme. No square pegs looking to occupy round holes. No taking guys a round early because we fear that they won't be around when our next chance to pick comes up. In any darft there are so many guys that have potential to shine. You can't and won't get all of them, and unfortunately some of the players will fade if they are miscast. Sadly, I think there are a lot more that would disappoint me than would elate me. I kind of wonder if signing Agnew takes away some of the shine, as the return game likely is a big part of his early career wherever he goes. Regardless, I would be happy if we took a chance on him. Another mid-to-late WR I like is Ihmir Smith-Marsette out of Iowa. I'm sure Urbz has gotten a bunch of info on him from his buddy Doyle, but I dig a WR who can play with some swagger. Guys like this being available in the 4th or 5th rounds is why I shake my head at just about every call to grab a WR early. Not trying to be snarky, but it seems like a lot around here are super into him, and I just didn't see it in him. Seemed like his best ball was when Pitts was drawing all the attention on the field. I dunno. |
