This.
And even if we werent going to select a RB, having buffalo move in front of us to take one would push one more player at a premium position to our spot. Win win.

Talking about rumours i have read some NFL reporters (Albert Breer and others)that talked with teams and they reported that some players with character concerns/questions like micah parsons aren't worrying teams too much and should not slide down the order.

A different story could be Barmore according to Breer. Apparently there are rumours of him not being great at Alabama in taking coaching and struggled with consistency (to be fair this shows up on tape too despite his talent and potential) and some teams aren't high on him as much.
Maybe its just teams putting It out on purpose but still a rumours going around worth noting.

Re: Etienne to Bills

If he slips past the Jets, I might give them a call to see what they want to offer for 25. Depends on who else is still there, but if I can get an extra pick or so for a guy I don't covet, let's do this

Weird how that contrasts the experts who have said the NFL is much higher on Barmore than the draftniks are.

Don't forget that we are in the peak of lying season.

I don't trust anything getting reported right now, especially rumors.

Of course, it sounds like someone maybe the Bucs are trying to get Barmore to fall some.

Quote:2021 NFL Draft Rumors: Is Alim McNeill a Day 2 target for the Jacksonville Jaguars?

(2:40 PM ET) I tweeted out on Friday, North Carolina State was having a second pro day today, surmising gaining momentum for defensive tackle Alim McNeill. The pro day just finished and the object of attraction was in fact McNeill, who is getting solid third-round grades from teams.

The Jacksonville Jaguars were on hand for McNeill’s “pro day.” While some believe the Jaguars could take a defensive tackle with their second pick in the first round, I continue to hear it is more likely to be McNeill or Tommy Togiai of Ohio State in the third frame.

Caleb Farley tested positive for COVID, wonder if his stock will fall or be unaffected. It would be really hard to pass him up if he somehow fell even though it’s near the bottom of the list as far as needs go

Speaking of needs, the more I think about it the more I feel like we have to be disciplined and not take a WR at 25 barring someone like Waddle or Smith falling. Marvin Jones is here for at least a year and will be on the field whenever he’s healthy. Chark is a stud. Viska is a monster in waiting and Colin Johnson showed a lot. I know you can never have too many offensive studs to support your new QB but the defense just has places someone else can help the team more imo. Also I feel like Marshall or either of the Moore’s will be there at 33 or 45 and I don’t know that there’s a massive difference between those 3 if you’re dead set on getting another guy at wideout

Yea, he'll likely be the Steelers' first round pick.

I’d say at the latest.  I think he goes before that.

Farley's stock had already dropped due to injury concerns. He would absolutely be someone they need to consider if he drops to 25. It could happen since Horn is now likely to be taken ahead of him. This would be Meyer's first tough decision: does he take Farley or go more for a position of much greater need? Farley likely wouldn't even start right away at corner due to acquisition of Griffin who will play opposite Henderson. If  Sidney Jones is healthy, he is also in the picture.

This situation is somewhat similar to the 2019 draft. Nobody thought Josh Allen would drop to the Jaguars and they had to take him despite having Yannick and Calais. If they had Farley rated as a top 10 player (many did) they'd have to take him. His athletic skill-set for a corner is elite and if they believe he'll overcome the back injury and his character checks out they'd have to take him. There are worse problems than having a stable of players who can cover elite receivers they will face.

This team simply needs more talent and Farley seems to be a guy who has an abundance of that. If his health checked out, I'd run to the table at pick 25 with his name on the card!

There was an update to the Farley injury list yesterday and it was even scarier than we thought. I couldn't take him at 25 I don't think. Probably not even at 33 knowing some of the other players that will be available. Maaaaybe at 45.

I googled him, because, like you, I was curious about this injury update, and all I found was that he tested positive for Covid yesterday.

I get the feeling Caleb Farley is this year's Myles Jack.

The guy has had two "back procedures" and hasn't played in over 500 days.

I think I would take him off my board until pick #45.

Fair enough. I think he is the best man to man CB in the draft, but the back issue scares me. Multiple injuries to the back are different than knee or leg injuries. They just don't always completely heal. I tend to shy away from players with chronic back/neck injuries. Farley certainly has the talent, but I'm betting he probably has a shorter career than many other CB's in this class. That brings up the question, would you rather take an elite CB who may only give you 5 years before they are forced to retire or would you rather have a solid, yet unspectacular CB who will have a 10 year career?

I’d be pretty upset if we passed on him especially if it’s for a WR or god forbid RB/TE
