Now that we pretty much know what the roster is going to be, what position battles do you look most forward to watching as minicamps and training camps progress?

For me:

1.  RB.  While draft position/politics might indicate Etienne will win the position, Robinson performed well enough last year to make it interesting.

2.  Tackle-What will Little do?  Will he be able to shake off the rust in time to supplant either Robinson or Taylor in the lineup?  Searcy was saying something about 1000 reps before the rust starts to come off for Little.  How will Cam Robinson and Jawaan Taylor respond to Little's presence?

3.  Cornerback-  With the addition of Campbell at the top of the second round, we have three highly drafted/highly paid players at the position.  Who will pay outside?  Who will be the nickel?  Is Henderson okay physically and mentally?  What happens further down the depth chart with Herndon and Sidney Jones?

4.  Safety-The addition of Campell, Cisco and Jenkins also adds a whole new level of competition to S.  Campbell played S in high school and has the build to play it in the NFL.  He would certainly make it a faster position if the coaches decide to switch him there.  Cisco is a ball hawk while Rayshaen Jenkins was a free agent addition.  Who will be the safeties>  Will the team have the strong free safety designation?  If so, how does that sort itself out?  Will the scheme have a S in the box or both playing deep?  Who would you think is best suited for each role among the candidates?

5.  Defensive line-with the switch to the new scheme and all of the DL added during this offseason, who will win the starting spots?  How many DL does the team keep?

I don’t think Robinson is in danger of losing the job. Etienne will be a Harvin like player that does a little bit of everything.

DL -- We really don't know exactly how it will be schemed and manned - so it's something to watch - IDL has a number of candidates to sort out

CB - Looking forward to what Campbell brings to the table

OT -- Would be amazing if Little can push one of the defacto starters

TE - gotta find an F-TE

I don't recall ever having THIS many brand new candidates to man one position area like we do DL.  At least since the expansion year.

You may have a point here.  While their position designations are the same, their roles may be so different as to effectively negate any real sense of competition there.

Former Jaguars assistant Dave Campo was also a former NFL head coach and defensive coordinator.  Most recently, he served on the USC coaching staff and worked with Tufele.

He has been absolutely raving about him and lauds the Jaguars picking him in the 4th round, according to 1010xl.

Not that Taven Bryan had distinguished himself as a keeper on his own, but Tufele could easily be the guy that pushes him off the roster.

I wonder what the team sees/projects for Ben Bartch? Inside or outside? Hopefully a good camp can create some battles and get the best 2 protectors out of Robinson/Taylor/Little/Bartch/Will Richardson.  I don't care WHO makes the most money.....LAWRENCE is going to be your biggest money maker going forward. PROTECT HIM AT ALL COSTS.

I think that regardless of who wins the CB battle that, Henderson & Griffin will be on the outside in nickel sets. Urban specifically mentioned qualities about campbell which make him an "ideal nickel" so whether he starts on the outside and kicks inside for nickel, or whether henderson starts and campbell comes in just for nickel remains to be seen. I think that Griffin & CJ win the battle for the 2 outside spots this year, but both will miss some games with injury and Campbell will fill in.

That said in 2022 I really think that by the end of the year Henderson & Campbell will be the starting outside cornerbacks. Rooting for griffin, I liked the signing but it feels like a stop gap and that the 2 high draft picks are the future.

Well...they moved him inside at G last year, and Warhop is still there this year.

Not sure I see anything changing from that sense.

It would be great if he DID have the feet to successfully play T and pass protect.  The more the better from my perspective.  It would make the OL deeper.
