I thought it was interesting that Urban said that Travis Etienne will be mainly taking reps in mini camp as a WR instead of a RB.

I was encouraged by what Urban said about Walker Little. If that guy gets in playing shape by week 3 or 4, I wouldn't be surprised to see him beat out either Robinson or Taylor. He could turn out to be the steal of the entire draft. It's hard not to get very excited about this draft class when you think about those two and add Etienne, Campbell and Cisco to the list. All five have amazing potential. Can't wait to see them and the other rookies at training camp.

The national media is all over this, in a negative way, but it seems pretty smart to me.  If he can learn some WR skills, that gives the team a lot of flexibility when he's on the field.

Imagine a lineup with 3 WRs and 1 RB.  That RB can run a 4.4 40.  Now that RB goes in motion and lines up as a WR.  Who's covering him?

I thought it was interesting too.

Considering there were only 18 players in camp, and that UM stated Etienne would be cross trained at the position, it wasn't surprising.

UMs words on Little were very encouraging.

That said, it's still very early in the process, and he hasn't gone up against anybody in any substantial way yet, even in a drill.

I am hoping like hell that Little can be a quality starter for us this year.

Speaking of Campbell, UM stated he kinds tweaked his hamstring.

I was driving home and some national guy on 1010xl was just dumping all over Urban Meyer about "turning Etienne into a WR."  And how stupid Meyer was for doing that and the Jags are going to suck, etc.  He was doing one of those typical monologues where the host seizes on something and rants about it endlessly.

And on Profootballtalk.com, "And it’s valid to ask why the Jaguars didn’t just draft a wide receiver if they wanted a wide receiver, instead of drafting a running back and playing him at wide receiver."

I'm betting neither that guy nor the guy who wrote the PFT article had any clue there were only 18 guys at the rookie minicamp, one of whom (Tufele) did not participate because he tested positive for Covid.

To my knowledge, we only have one (1) rookie offensive lineman.  How much substantive RB work could Etienne have gotten under those circumstances?!? They wouldn't even allow Trevor Lawrence to hand off!

It's as if the national media can't wait to bash this team.

Nahhhh.

None of your Facebook links are working for me.

Still the videos I have seen have me aching for the season. Feels good to finally have a real QB.
