Urban is pretty slick lol. I bet it's always been about backup QB for Tebow

#1

Just my opinion, but it's close to how I'd go about it.

Urban in a win-win situation. He drafted a qb so talented that even Tebow can't ask him with a straight face to be a starter.

Tebow in a good situation because even his most diehard fan doesn't expect or want him to start over Lawrence. And he'll get to complete a dream...he can retire as a hometown Jaguar.

I'm not a Gator fan, not a Tebow fan, not a Urban fan. But I am a fan of helping someone when you can. And it won't hurt the team with Tebow as the BACKUP QB. For now he'll be listed as 4th string TE/emergency qb lol. But they'll ease him in to 3rd QB and IF it works out backup qb.

Urban giving his boy a chance! And he's probably going try and prove something to his own ego: that in his system, Tebow could play QB in the NFL. That at the least he could do a version of what Lamar Jackson do.

This is my conclusion, I can be wrong, but Tebow at TE never sounded right to me.

I think Tebow is going to have to compete for a TE spot. 4th string QB would just be a bonus.

I think teams keep at most 3 qbs so it would be 3rd string.

He'll be a 4th string TE and "emergency QB" for now.

But none of this is given to him, he'll have to earn it. All you can do is give someone a chance.

It 100% would hurt the team because what if he had to actually play quarterback.....

This is such a bad take and one of the main reasons why I'm so opposed to this signing. Forget the fact that players like Trey Burton and Delanie Walker are still out there but now there is this segment of people who still want to see him be a backup QB on this team. What happens if he gets called into action because Trevor and Minshew get hurt? You want Tebow at the helm who hasn't taken a snap in 8 years? Come on now. Put the feelings aside and think logically.

Thing is, what type if offense is Urban planning to run? I think he has some visions for Read Option. Would Tebow not be able to do that? Would Tebow not be able to do what Lamar Jackson is doing?

Haven't taken a snap in 8 years...how old is he? In that time away has he worked on things?

I remember when I was young and playing basketball, I couldn't shoot a jumper for shosh. Now in my 40s my jumper is butter. 20 years too late lol.

I have no feelings toward Tebow, pro or con. I'm not a gator fan.

No. He's been playing baseball and broadcasting. He hasn't worked on anything.

And you're an obvious Tebow homer if you think Tebow can do anything remotely close to Lamar. Good grief.

The disrespect for Minshew is crazy. Yes hes a 6th round pick and not the greatest QB of all time but hes given nothing but 100% effort for us since hes got here. This is why guys never want to stay. Your either a star or get the hell out.

But now suddenly Timmy 'Lemar' Tebow is the guy. SMH

Tebow is not on the same planet as Minshew as far as QB.

this franchise is awful.  They steal all of the good feelings by doing stupid stuff constantly.  Anytime we get any player they ruin it or ruin them.  This team ruined a once in a decade trip to the playoffs by being a bunch of scared coaches.  They are blowing the franchise first of having and executing on the selection in what appears to be a generational talent and then they have to play patty cake with a conversion product for almost a month.

Stupid, Stupid, Stupid
Birth of the Franchise - November 30, 1993
Death of the Franchise - November 29, 2011

Fans deserve better. Thanks for all the good times too many are in the past.

A lot of players want to stay here because no other team wants them.

I heard one of the talking heads say Tebow needed 3 games to qualify for a NFL pension. Anyone know if this is correct? I know he played 35 games over 3 years, but can't find any game requirements. I sure hope this isn't the reason....
