Tim Tebow- Jags new TE (merged)

This is the most reasonable response I’ve seen on the subject:

Wasn't Gus Bradley into a feel good winning culture too? That worked out so well for us.

I can respect that.

I am a Florida State fan that was in college during his run at Florida and needless to say I absolutely hate Tim Tebow but this is sort of how I have been on the subject.

In terms of football this changes nothing.

As over-reactive as things are now, imagine what happens when he gets into a pre-season game and actually manages to catch a pass or two. It'll get insufferable.
I'm condescending. That means I talk down to you.

Knowing that one of the biggest struggles for rookie QBs is the attention of the national media, he called Tebow to ask if he'd join the team to distract their attention from Lawrence. This would allow the young rookie to develop without the scrutiny of the reporters. It also increases jersey sales. Meyers is a genius. Either that or he's a tone-deaf narcissist that's oblivious to the tensions in the modern day NFL. One or the other.

Could be both.

Tebow's jersey number allows him to play full back, H back and Jaguar Back this year:

"The expanded jerseys will allow running backs, tight ends, fullbacks, H-backs and wide receivers to wear numbers 1-49 and 80-89"

His jersey number doesn't mean a damn thing.  They just need to list him at one primary position where a number fits and they can put him anywhere.  [BLEEP], they can put anybody anywhere on the field that they want.  I don't tecall offensive linemen changing their numbers when they are eligible on a play.

Oh, and the Jaguar back thing is just stupid.

If Guy Whimper can catch a pass, Timmy Terrific can snag one here or there.

What evidence is there that he can't catch? I doubt Meyer brings him in if he can't catch a cold. People need to get that one pass play with the Jets out of their mind. That wasn't Tebow's fault he didn't catch that pass. It was a bad pass and pretty much no one was making that catch.

The BIGGER Picture will be if/when he makes the 53-Man roster. Some will be intolerable to say the least.

I could see this, I think he could be a monster on STs. Gonna say he forces at least 2 fumbles

What leads you to this conclusion, I mean other than blind Tebowism?

I don't know about reasonable, but it's certainly the most positive take.

What has Tim Tebow ever shown that would convince any sane person that he will be a "monster" at any position?

What evidence do we have that he can? Actually he probably can manage to snag a pass or two, I said as much. But there's a lot more than that to playing TE.
