End of season stats predictions

#1

Just want to see where some of yall think we finish this season in the stats department.  You can add other stats if you would like.

My predictions

Passing offense -  8th. I think this Passing offense will be much improved with T Law, better oline play, experienced WRs, and a better run game

Rushing offense - 3rd. With a good run blocking oline imo, JRob, ETN, Hyde, Lawrence, and a few trick plays from Tebow I think we make the top 3

Passing defense 12th.   with a deep CB group, a healthy Allen, and a improved Chaisson in the 3-4 I think it will be a much improved pass D

Rushing defense - 18th.  With the addition of Brown, Tufele, and a 2nd year Hamilton in the 3-4, again I think this will be a much improved unit as well with Charlie Strong leading the D

ST- top 5

We get a playoff spot and make it back the the post season

12 forced fumbles seems a bit high.

So the Jags go from the 4th worst rushing offense to top 3 in one off season. They also somehow vault into the top 8 in passing offense and I'm assuming with all this offense they jump from the 3rd worst scoring offense into the top 5? From 19 points a game to 30?

SMH.

FWIW, the 2016 Jaguars offense was 23rd in total yards and 25th in total points then improved to 6th in total yards and 5th in total points in 2017, and that was with the same QB.

In 2016 we were 22nd in rushing offense.  In 2017 we were 1st.  With Lawrence and and ETN and better oline play our rushing offense will be much better

And I think that's clearly an outlier.

I'm not saying it can't happen but the odds are just extremely unlikely.

My prediction is, people are going to be very happy that this team ended up with ETN..

Well considering the Jags were bottom 3 at just about everything on offense and defense, I think cracking the top 20 in all categories would be fine. I would like them to jump to just being average this season instead of being the worst at everything.

I think that's reasonable and realistic. This team is still relying on very young players at key positions. There will still be lots of growing pains this year. Some highs and some lows so to expect top 10 in anything seems pretty farfetched.

3 of our starters on the oline were the starters when we were 1st in rushing offense in 2017. I think the oline we surprise people this year

It's a major shot in the dark trying to guess this stuff at the moment.
We know so little about how well or how poorly the newly acquired talent will be utilized. Obviously, we have some clues, but I need to be convinced Meyer will get the best out of the talent available to him still. I'm hopeful but unsure.

That said, I expect very middle-of-the-pack numbers in most categories, but the rushing stats should squeak into the top 6 or 7 in the league.

I don't.  I think ETN will be good enough that he steals OROY votes from Trevor, and someone with lesser stats and more team wins like Fields will take home the award.

I predict the stats will start out slow/toward the bottom and gradually progress.

Stats aren't wins, though, and that's what I care about by the end of the season, we need to see the team finding ways to pull a win out or protect a lead. This season isn't about the final record, team stats, or individual stats.
