I am betting Trevor Lawrence breaks Brunell's record of 432 passing yards in a game, and any number of other passing records for this team before all is said and done.

Worst to 1st.  Curse Reversed!

If he stayed sober, Justin Blackmon would have broke that record imo.

No chance. Do you realize how absurd 291 actually is? 7th on the all time list for a game.

Not Rice, Owens, Moss, AB or Larry Fitz beat that.

Blackmon was really talented but to think he would beat that is a little far fetched

J Smith was super explosive and clutch. Jags offense had weapons back then.

May be far fetched but I think he could have done it.

Depending on the offense, most rushing yards or most all purpose yards might get broken.

Didn't smith have a flukey tipped ball 50+ yard td in that game?
291 requires skill, a good qb, a game that is still in doubt for 60 min, and some luck

Call it flukey but Jim did it against the best defense in NFL history.

Keenan had 16 receptions for 220 yards, but it never gets talked about. Blackmon had a 200 yard game as well. Taylor had a 234 yard game and a 194 yard game. Taylor also had a 183 yard game.

I think Lawrence will break most of Marks absurd recurds.

Jimmy Smith and James Stewart’s records will stand for a loooong time. I think Barkers 83 yarder will stand for a long time too.

And to think that Smith put up those yards in 2000 against the Ravens. The Ravens won the SB that season, which makes what he did even that more impressive. That Defense was ridiculously good. He had 15 receptions, 291 yards and 3 TD in that game.

As far as Blackmon possibly breaking that if he stayed sober, I don't think it would be that far fetched. Would it have happened? Probably not, but it wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility at all imo. He did have 7 receptions, 236 yards and 1 TD against the Texans in 2012 as a rookie. Pretty damn impressive as well.

Jsmooth is the jags best ever wr hands down.

That said Blackmon was a yac nightmare of a wr for the opposing team. He also had some of the strongest hands i have ever seen on a wr.

Sucked he couldnt stay sober.

Bortles had a 430 yard game. I’m sure Trevor can pass for 433

He definitely had the raw talent. The problem would have been the rest of the offense which would allow defenses to focus on slowing him down.

291 is basically FOUR 75-yd TDs in one game. To one player.

Only way it happens is if you're giving up the same obscene amounts of yards/TDs to the opposing team. If you're destroying a defense that badly, chances are once you are up by a few scores the team starts grinding clock, and the record remains unbroken.

Not going to say it can't happen. There's plenty of guys that are fast enough and elusive enough to turn a ten yard pass into a 60-yard gain. However, unless Todd Wash gets another DC job, I dunno that any defense is going to allow the same player and the same play to repeatedly beat them for an entire game.

Recurds?

Whey to go on that thread title, OP

Not that crazy to happy. Basically needs a game where the Jags can move the ball pretty well, but are snake bit by turnovers.

Basically what Jameis Winston career was in Tampa. Also, great QB's tend to have a game or 2 like that in their career with like 450+ yards, a few TDs and a few TO. Just need 1 WR/player playing out his mind that day or with a major mismatch.

Brunell's 432 yds passing in a game will fall in the next season or two
Someone may tie or break Campbell's 4 sacks in a game - as we get better and the opponent is in obvious passing situations
I can see Lambo hitting a 60 yard FG at the end of the half or end of the game depending on the situation
McCardell's 16 Receptions in a game is within reach
Barker's 83 yd punt - if it bounces and rolls without being caught, there's always a chance
