Tim Tebow- Jags new TE (merged)

In seven series, Fields went 14-of-20 passing for 142 yards and a TD for a 106.7 passer rating. He added five rushes for 33 yards and a score.

Tebow is awful. Fields is good as I predicted. Lawrence will be better. Lawrence played 3 series' and Fields played 7.

One of Fields’s TD passes was to a TE so wide open that even Tebow could have hit him with it.

Agreed. There was blown coverage on that play and the TE didn't have anyone within 15 yards of him. ESPN was giving Fields props for that play, but I could've made that easy throw. It didn't even take any skill. Fields could've sat in the pocket and read a book. He had all day to throw. The entire defense read it as a run play.

Let's see him do that against a real NFL team in the regular seasoon.

Ohio Stat QB's have always floped in the NFL.

I watched the Howard Stern movie the other night and there was a spot where the program guy was trying to figure out his high ratings.  He said people who love Stern listened, on average, for an hour and people who hate Stern listened for two… both had the same answer why: they wanted to see what he would do next.

Get over it.  This is a team that can improve 100% by winning two games this year.  Without Tebow nobody really cares.  I know I don’t.

This may say more than anything else in the entire post.

As in, why would you do that to yourself?

Let's hope Frangie is paying attention, sounds like if Teebs is waived he may have a career as a shock joke. (typo but I dunno that changing it improves the message any)

He should do this team and his buddy Urban a favor and just retire now. That way the team gets better and Urban doesn't have to feel guilty about cutting one of his best buddies.

I think you are missing the what he has demanded or accepted. He demanded nothing, they can cut him at any point. He won't accept an unearned spot on the team. He didn't demand a spot in the MLB or even minor leagues, he worked his way up. I'm not saying he will ever play but he hasn't acted like he is owed anything. I don't like his skills or think he will produce anything but don't act like he has ever demanded anything.

cite your source on that? or are you stating opinion as fact?

He literally has zero value. He isn't going to have a single team knocking on his door when we cut him.

We can easily get an 8th or 9th round pick out o him!

he already flamed out of the minors, which MLB team is dumb enough to make that trade?

As for the rookie thing, that is absolutely laughable.

TL is an actual rookie just out of college.

Tebow is 34 years old, played two seasons in the NFL as a QB, and decided on his own volition to try to change positions after a 9 year layoff.

When do the you Tebow cultists stop jumping on the grenade to defend this guy?!?

Even now, Tebow sychophants saw freaking first ballot Hall of Famer John freaking Elway somehow conspired to blackball Tebow from the league as a QB for reasons other than on field, football related reasons.

Now, when video comes out of embarrassing efforts doing one of the fundamental things a TE does-blocking-you trot out the he's just a rookie card.

Pathetic.

Trevor was playing QB last year, and the year before, and the year before.  Tebow was NOT playing tight end last year, nor the year before, nor the year before.  He is a rookie tight end.  I trotted out the rookie card when you trotted it out to justify Trevor.  I could have just pointed out that Justin Fields is also a rookie and blew Lawrence away...

I haven't defended anything about the play (or plays).  But you, the Trevor cultist... the Trevor sycophant, are sure jumping on the grenade to defend him.

Pathetic.

Trevor played QB the last few years because by all measures, he appears to have the skills to do so.

Despite his HS and college success, Tebow was always miscast as an NFL viable QB, and it became obvious when he hit the field.  Denver saw it and every other team saw it, which is why he was out of the league for so long, never getting another chance to be a starter.  Tebow not playing TE or any other more suitable position was his own fault.  Plenty of people suggested switching positions over the years.  He refused to switch positions.  There was a former college QB, Logan Woodside, who knew his limitations and listened to advice and switched to TE in the NFL, and he is starting for Washington.

Furthermore, Trevor Lawrence is actually a rookie!  Tebow isn't.  If you are going to go the results of one preseason game route, Ryan Leaf beat Peyton Manning head to head their rookie year.  How did that work out?  Furthermore, While he made some rookie mistakes, Trevor Lawrence actually performed decently.  There was something to hang his hat on, from the poise he showed to the completions to Marvin Jones.  In that game, there was some basis to defend him!  What the [BLEEP] did Tebow do against Cleveland to justify any defense of him?  We saw he couldn't competently execute a block.  He didn't catch any passes.  The coaches didn't even put him on special teams.  So we couldn't tell if he could at least run down and cover a kick or hold for a FG.

Trust me, this does not work for you or Tebow.

Laughing

Tell me about it.  He jogged backwards for 10-15 yards to score.

Indeed they have.  It's uncanny for such a great college program that's the case.

yes, because that is EXACTLY how "rookie" works in the NFL. Not a single player we have ever drafted has been a rookie, I suppose, since they all have functional experience at the position we selected them to play. They are just 0-year veterans, right?

Tebow is not a rookie. He has been on many a pro field in his day, the speed of the game is not a surprise to him. He's been there in the playoffs, so he's even tasted high-stakes games as a player. I think the word you are looking for is he is INEXPERIENCED at the position. We'd be saying the same thing if we had signed Bortles, Gabbert, or even TLaw to play TE.

On top of that, Tebow had at least NINE (9) years from the end of his time with the Jets to hone his craft and develop his skills if he had any thought to switching positions in a comeback attempt.  Either he didn't bother to try until now, or he did try and couldn't develop his skills sufficiently over that period to look competent at the position.

I thought that's what I just heard.

If so, finally this whole thing is over.

Apparently between his position coaches, UM and Baalke, nobody thought there was enough substance to Tebow's game to justify any more time trying to develop him.

I wish him luck in his future endeavors, but he shouldn't have been here in the first place.

That tweet is complete BS.

They could have kept Josh Oliver, who looks 100x better than anyone on our roster.

They could have drafted an actual, viable TE.

They could have traded for Ertz.

There's literally a hundred better things they could have done.

So YES harm done.

You aren't looking at it correctly. They sold a bunch of jerseys and that helps the billionaire. No the product on the field isn't better but the real goals were realized. All your other items cost money. The T Circus was a plus in the revenue column.
