I can endure this losing because it shows me the winning is coming!

Urban took over a talent-devoid team which only won one game last year.

1. New HC.
2. New OC. Every player young and old learning a new playbook.
3. Rookie QB learning a new playbook, HC, and OC, as well as adjusting to the NFL.
4. New DC. Even holdovers from last years dreadful team learning a new scheme.

There's knowing the playbook and then there's KNOWING THE PLAYBOOK. I know from experience majority of the guys don't even know the playbook. Not to the point where they're out there going fullspeed. It takes a good year before they will be comfortable with the plays.

I do not think I ever pointed to instant results.  With the amount of money he had available with the draft capital we had this should be at least a competitive team.  We are losing by more than 2 scores in every game we play.  It's not even a competitive team at the end of the day.   I think the 2020 Jags would beat the 2021 Jags.  I do not see the improvements and that is my point.

The 2020 Jags of weeks 9-15 could possibly beat this team. Though this team is good against the run, which was that teams strength.

Keep in mind the 2020 team was historically bad before they got comfortable and became at least respectful on defense.

This will be a different team by week 10 if not sooner. They'll win at least 1 of the next 3 games. This team has a qb that legitimately threatens the field. Teams are playing them 2 high safeties.

They're playing Trevor in 2 high safeties as a rookie! Do you know how rare that is? So actually teams aren't respecting our run game and daring us to beat them running the ball.

Progress is evident. You could make the case this team is a couple dumb mistakes (and decent kicker) away from being 2-1.

Agreed. We could have easily won this game if we would have stuck with the run game and didn't do the flea flicker.

I do feel he is possibly our biggest problem along with Lambo

I miss Gruden and Hackett

Yes, I don’t know why Gruden wasn’t retained if Warhop was. Hackett would probably return to replace Bevell. He got the most out of Bortles. He’s probably learned a thing or two after working with Aaron Rodgers. He’d probably jump at the chance to be paired with Trevor in year 2.

WE HAVE A QB!!! Despite the thread on this forum calling him horrendous...I see he's going devastate this league for a while.

WE HAVE A COACH!!! He coached them up tremendously for this game. And he's doing this in his 1st year without the talent he wants around him.

I know this is a "right now" society and most casuals don't know what they're seeing, but this is the beginning of our good years!

This makes two/many of us (Don't Get It Twisted). I too see the BIG picture of which it'll take time to matriculate. If you don't Concur, ask Dan Marino, Troy Aikmen and Payton Manning just to name a few.

Time Will Tell.

While I agree with your point generally, I strenuously object to your inclusion of Marino in this context.

Marino had an outstanding rookie year, even though he started the season on the bench.

Take away a miracle missed FG for TD and we scored 13 points. Not sure the massive improvements you're seeing besides finally running the ball against a bad run defense.

Yes, but we're stuck with the decisions to hire Urban and Bevell for at least this season and those just domino into more losses.

The flea flicker wasn't a bad play call. It would have been a TD if Norwell had done his job and it wouldn't have been a disaster if Lawrence had thrown it away when it got blown up.

Agreed and it's not an excuse to say so, it's just realistic. The team is making some dumb mistakes but it's starting to become clear there's some talent on the team. They just need to learn how to win (and get a competent kicker)
I'm condescending. That means I talk down to you.
