I recorded the game and the broadcast replayed it several times. If the ball touched him there wasn't any indication that I could see.

It definitely says something interesting that you're so convinced you did see something.

I recorded it and re-watched it multiple times as well. I didn't think it touched him at first, but that one angle clearly shows movement of his finger going backwards as if it barely made contact with the football. One finger doesn't just move backwards like that unless it's assisted by the ball.

The defense is a work in progress, giving up 20 points seems like an improvement.  They really weren't able to pick up the tight ends for some reason

Considering how Miami was crowding the line of scrimmage, I think they needed to be taking even more shots to get them out of the box.  I think the issue was Trevors inexperience, not that we had bad play calls

3.  If there were a 3rd hero of the game, it is the Dolphins' DB that touched the receiver down on that 4th down slant.  But for him lacking the awareness and touching him down, the Jaguars can't call time out, and the game goes into overtime.  Actually, Bevell and Schottenheimer should get credit for that play call.  They've been getting hammered all year for poor play calling, and deservedly so.  But considering we had timeouts remaining, that quick slant to get us into FG range...throwing it close to the defender, was brilliant!

The rules actually state that if a player intentionally goes down, the play is dead so the Jags could have called the timeout, provided the Ref blew the whistle calling the play dead in time.  I'm not certain if that was a 2020 rule change or a 2021 rule change but I heard it back a few weeks ago while watching another game.

Even though I knew all the holes on this team weren't likely to be filled in one off season, the performance of the defense is particularly disappointing due to all of the investment put into the defense this off season.

3 free agent DBs, 3 FA DLs, two highly drafted DBs...and we still can't stop many people.

Good to know that.  Clearly the Jags changed the play call after Miami called time out, it was absolutely brilliant

I am pretty sure the give yourself up rule to call a time out is actually pretty old.

In the first half I thought we were going to get blown out, so it was good to see the defense stiffen up some as the game progressed.

I hated when they didn't kick the field goal - shoulda taken the points. But the decision to go for the fast first down at the end was awesome - it fooled everyone. Great call, great pass, great catch.

There was nothing to suggest Agnew touched that ball . . . the rotation of the ball didn't change, there was no change of direction. There was nothing in any of the playback views that could have even remotely been used to overturn the call.

I'm SO glad the Jags pulled it out!
