Wins and losses are not 100% on the players (Meyer) and not 100% on the coaches (Marrone). We all know that it's somewhere in the middle for both. The Golden Mean.
Now can we please close this thread? It's as stale as a 7 day old bologna sandwich. Doug would concur.

The leaders on the team are going to make that decision. It depends on how much trust you have built up with them, how we structure everything this week and focus on winning that game. . . . I’m going to be extremely clear as I can. Our staff is working their tails off. But you know as well as I do that the ownership of this team is with the players.”OMG.... so once again it's completely urban's fault that we're losing... but if we were winning it would have nothing to do with Urban... alright, I'll bite. Outside of ego or money, why do you opine he took the job? I'm ok with opinion, but feel free to reference any factual evidence you see fit. And I get what the other poster is saying completely. I wouldn't want a Ray Rice, Tyreek Hill or Greg Hardy type of person on our roster, even if they were the best to ever play their position. Some people are more willing to overlook wrongdoing than others. You're cool with Urbz' tenure thusfar, and that's ok. Others might not be. That's ok too, that's their opinion, and is not in any way idiotic. Let's turn it on its head a bit - were you ok with the Doyle hire? He's been a reputable S&C coach with years of experience and very likely would have helped our team develop, and maybe even end up with a SB contender. Or was his recent past too much to overlook? Exactly. Give the coach some time, and stop beating a dead horse
1-15 last year, and the team just about completely stripped on defense the last 3 seasons. All that for draft picks that mostly didn't hit. I suggest common sense my friends. I'm cautiously optimistic. (10-29-2021, 05:20 PM)nejagsfan Wrote:Forgive me for expecting them to beat the Texans who are the worst team in the NFL…. I'm not a Tebow fan...never have been...and if you are talking about me then you're making [BLEEP] up because I've never mentioned him....and you're upset because we didn't win our first game with a QB that had literally never played in the NFL with coaches who have never coached in the NFL... like I said completely unrealistic

Speaking of making stuff up.
Seems there's quite a bit of NFL experience in the list at the link, the idea that just because the head guy is a clueless newb doesn't mean they are without experience. At least enough to understand who the best player is and how to prepare your team to line up properly on the first play of the year. https://www.jaguars.com/team/coaches-roster/ “An empty vessel makes the loudest sound, so they that have the least wit are the greatest babblers.”. - Plato

Wow, what an interesting and unrealistic way to get to an incorrect point. Quite ironic. Then again, I've seen your other posts. So there's that... ![]()
And this guy thinks he's winning the discussion. He's daft.
C'mon nejagsfan, we've given you repeated examples of how Meyer has screwed up. You don't counter them and you don't offer anything positive he's done to warrant support, you just toss insults and claim to be right without evidence. So please, persuade us with something more than "he's always been a winner" and "he just needs time" and "Progress!", give us something tangible that you can point to as a reason for optimism excluding the TLaw pick that everyone on Earth knew was the right thing to do. “An empty vessel makes the loudest sound, so they that have the least wit are the greatest babblers.”. - Plato
