So, let me get this straight... you think a family who took a picture of themselves holding guns should be locked up? For a long time? I didn't know who they were, so I was hoping maybe you had a reason, but those people aren't doing anything illegal. They aren't endangering anyone. Every gun is unloaded. Every chamber is cleared. They are all practicing safe gun control... fingers off the trigger, tips pointed away from any living thing. It sounds like you want people punished for having hobbies and interests that are different than yours. I have an AR. I've taken a picture with one. Should I be locked up for a long time?

Honest question: Have you ever shot a gun?

Honest question: Do you think that this is an appropriate way to celebrate the birth of Christ?

What does that have to do with you wanting them locked up for a long time?

Yes.

Lol. Dude, it's Christmas. Like 20 people celebrate the birth of Christ. 50% want new a new iPhone, and the other 50% want guns.

You forgot to account for the people who want their iPhone to also be a gun! Laughing

Michigan school shooter Ethan Crumbley must rely on public defender while parents hire private attorneys - including one who represented convicted gymnast doctor Larry Nassar

Paulette Michel Loftin has been appointed as Michigan school shooter Ethan Crumbley's public defender
She was appointed as his lawyer after the 15-year-old proved he could not afford a lawyer on his own and his parents hired big-shot lawyers to represent them
His parents James, 45, and Jennifer, 43, hired Shannon Smith and Mariell Lehman. Smith represented Larry Nassar in his sexual assault trial
Ethan faces 24 counts, including one count of terrorism and four counts of murder. His parents both face four counts of involuntary manslaughter

Even Jackie Chiles couldn't get Nassar off.

Well, he's a lawyer, not a gymnast.

That might be the best joke I've ever seen on this board.

It would be funny..... if the gymnasts weren't underaged or molested.

Good grief.  Wallbash

Dark humor is like food, not everybody gets it.

I got it. I just strongly disagree.

There's this really interesting book I read about a human who was raised by aliens on Mars. He moves back to Earth with all of his Martian abilities. One thing he can't figure out about humans is why they laugh. He can smile at things out of joy, but he doesn't get laughter. One day, after watching a monkey beat up a monkey for a peanut, only for that monkey to run over and beat a smaller monkey, he starts cracking up. The grotesque sadness of the situation that unfolded makes him realize, “I've found out why people laugh. They laugh because it hurts so much . . . because it's the only thing that'll make it stop hurting.”

We aren't laughing because we think molesting children is funny. We are laughing because it literally hurts to think about something so dark. You get offended because you don't want the hurting to stop. I understand both positions.

That said, it was really the construction of the joke that I appreciated. It just checks all the boxes for a well delivered/timed joke.

I was a victim once and there is not one damn thing humorous about the subject.

That's all I'm going to say about it.

I was too and you won't stop me from coping with it how I choose.
