He sucked as a QB and he has Tom Brady as his teams QB now, who coaches himself. lol... I don't get it. Leftwich was garnering attention as a QB coach/coordinator long before Brady signed with TB. IIRC he worked with Arians in AZ when they had Palmer We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
After the crap we have seen, I think any of the guys on the nfl.com list would be a massive improvement

Probably knows more about the game than any coach we've EVER had. The man loves the game, lives and breathes it. Sorry that you couldn't get past the way he spoke... and yes there were plenty here who said exactly that.
Leftwich is an interesting candidate. I saw Jimmie Smith endorsed him as well.

How do you know this? I have no doubt he has a good football IQ, but how do you know he's that knowledgeable? Do you know him personally? Has there been a declaration by the football gurus that Byron Leftwich is remarkably knowledgeable? Is there any indication in that crystal ball of yours that he could perform as a HC? It's this kind of hyperbolic assumptions influenced by nostalgia and desire for retribution that will cause another bad choice. We have too much as stake to gamble on another unknown. If we wanna go up and coming it has to be Leftwich if we want an established guy the Pederson would be a good hire. Made Wentz look like an MVP before he got injured and had Foles playing at a high level.
I think this is going to be like the draft every year as people pick a favorite and then criticize all the other candidates in order to pump up their favorite.
Personally I think there are a dozen candidates that would be good.

Absolutely right. I will try to be open minded and as of today I only know a candidate I don't want. If the candidate looks reasonably competent I'll try to give him a chance. We need proven worth to step in next season. There are enough proven winners to pursue. You’re exactly right. Let someone else run the experiment on the up and comers. I have a favorable opinion of Leftwich. But I want to see how he performs without Brady there before I’m taking the risk. ![]() Fix the O-Line!

I want a Reid, not a guy that acts tough in press conferences but who has never had a prospect show growth under him. No, I'm telling you it's a strike against him that when backup quarterbacks have to play their team seems to perform a lot worse. We need someone that grooms quarterbacks, not someone that succeeds with a QB someone else groomed. He did so well Winston is no longer with the Bucs... If had done a great job with him, Winston, not Brady would be the QB. Just sayin..

I have the above two on ignore, I can only guess they disagree with my sentiments. LOL...no matter its probably something stupid and ugly anyway. They are my un-official fan club, they hang on my every word. LOL

Arians' offense is notoriously difficult to master, so there's a possibility that Winston didn't have the ability to do so. He threw a ton of TDs and the Bucs put up a ton of points, but he also threw way too many INTs. (12-17-2021, 12:56 PM)Khan Artist Wrote:(12-17-2021, 12:51 PM)Ronster Wrote: No, I get that.
