I want you to post your 2022 lineup, supposing you were the new GM and were able to get the free agents/rookies you wanted this offseason. I made a very unrealistic one in the other subforum but i'm curious what the other posters here would go for.
It's obviously too early to know which free agents will be tagged/retained. It's also way to early to accurately predict where most players in the draft will end up but I tried my best to make it realistic as possible. Obviously free agency will likely have a few more additions of lesser known/depth guys but I tried to show where my focus would be if I was the GM. Cuts/Let walk/traded Cam Robinson Andrew Wingard Damien Wilson Tavon Austin Carlos Hyde James O'Shag Free Agent signings: WR Davante Adams G Brandon Scherff S Marcus Williams TE Mike Gaseki NFL Draft: 1 - 1. Why are you expecting us to sign Davante Adams if it's supposed to be somewhat realistic?

I don't know Davante Adams personally but if he wants the most money, and our next gm wants a top tier Wr it can definitely happen. If he's more concerned with winning than money (which I feel is less likely) then we wont get him.
Offense:
QB- Trevor Lawrence RB- James Conner/James Robinson/Travis Etienne WR- Mike Williams/John Metchie III/Michael Gallup/Jamal Agnew/Jayden Reed/Justyn Ross TE- Dan Arnold/Charlie Kolar/Grant Calcaterra LT- Terron Armstead LG- Andrew Norwell C- Brandon Linder RG- Ben Bartch RT- Abraham Lucas Defense: DE- Kayvon Thibodeaux/Josh Allen/Chandler Jones/Calais Campbell/Randy Gregory/Dawuane Smoot DT- DaVon Hamilton/Malcolm Brown/Jay Tufele/John Ridgeway ILB- Chad Muma OLB- Myles Jack/Lerentee McCray CB- Tyson Campbell/Rudy Ford/Shaquill Griffin/Garrett Williams SS- Jalen Pitre FS- Andre Cisco This is factoring in all of the 11 picks Jacksonville will have in the draft. I bolded the rookies. ![]() "What do I know of cultured ways, the gilt, the craft and the lie? I, who was born in a naked land and bred in the open sky. I really don't get some of your cuts/released players, bit that's fine no massive losses there. This team will need to build through the draft though, can't afford to let guys walk right now and FA is a wash until we start winning with the talent we draft. It makes completely perfect sense that your "somewhat realistic" scenario includes 3 blue chip FA and drafting a guy who is constantly ranked in the top half of the first round at 33 when contrasting it to your critiques of Trevor. You do not live in a somewhat realistic reality.

Somewhat realistic? Cut Hyde. Trade Jack.
Figure out Little's place on the line. Once you do that, target either LT or RT. That may be offering Cam a long-term deal, it may be a different FA. Regardless, replace Taylor. Bring in a good RB. Etienne and JRob both are coming back from significant injury. We have no guarantee of their recovery to prior form or their sustained durability. Can't have too many RB, as we've seen, injury is likely to deplete the depth over the course of 18 weeks. Get a MLB who is going to run your D. Jack was terribly miscast, Scho was traded for peanuts, and Wilson has been serviceable at best. Get a WR who is going to be TLaw's go-to guy for duration of each player's career. It's time to move on from Linder/Shatley, bring in their replacement. This may be week 1 replacement or a gradual development over the season. Not gonna pose specific names, because there's a number of guys that can fill those roles, whether by FA or the darft. Those are the priorities. Take care of those, and the rest of the moves will take care of themselves.
I don't think Linderbaum makes it to the 33rd pick, unfortunately. I wish he did!

Realistic?
Here's what I think they head to camp with: Tackles to compete: Little + FA signing + 3rd/4th round pick , fodder Guards to compete: FA signing + FA signing + 4th/5th rd draft pick + Bartch , fodder C: Linder and re-sign Shatley to a 2yr deal , fodder QB: same as 2021 WR: FA + FA + early pick + Jones, Shenault, Agnew & re-sign Treadwell to a cheap deal, fodder RB: Etienne, J Rob, Mid-Tier FA, Late rd pick, UDFA (keeping Armstead and/or Ogbunwale optional) TE: Get one of the better FA options and draft one late to add to Arnold + Farrell and Manhertz still under contract Defense: DT: Brown/Hamilton/Tufele/ FA signing DE/OLB: Early pick/ Allen/ Smoot/ last year's pick/ fodder MLB: God only knows, but they need to get better there (edit:Quarterman, Jack and Moses should be in camp - but really - Jack should be traded to play Will somewhere in a 4-3) CB: Campbell, Griffin, FA signing, Claybrooks, late pick S: Cisco, Jenkins, Ford , Thomas, late pick, fodder ST Cooke + fodder New kicker - maybe use one of those extra 6th rounders and sign one off the street too and let them compete TLDR: We need to be very active in free agency (01-05-2022, 11:15 AM)NYC4jags Wrote: Realistic? I think that's extremely accurate even to the point of when we should draft what, except for this one. There are going to be a ton of starting caliber guards in the 3rd round. I think that will be the prime spot to fill one of them, along with one FA signing (Laken or Williams plz). We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Haahahaha
Somewhat realistic. "Ok. First. We get arguably the best WR in football. Then one of the best guards in football." Suuuuuuure. Jags couldn't even get Jonnu Smith or Hunter Henry but NOW? After a 2-15 season.... They nab Adams. Get real.

We landed the #1 TE in Free Agency last season in Manhertz, nailed the sleeper pick Colin Farrell in round 5, and locked up Tebow as a supplemental free agent signing. There was no room for Hunter Henry or Jonnu Smith on our roster. They would have been cut on day 1 of training camp. Davonte Adams has indicated that he wants to come to Jacksonville, citing the fact that our city has a vast amount of sporting events like the FL-GA Game and TaxSlayer Bowl to keep him busy after the team has been eliminated from playoff contention.

QB. Trevor Lawrence
RB. Robinson WR. Anyone else TE. Dan Arnold LT. Walker Little G. Anyone else C. Shatley G. Anyone else RT. Anyone else Defence: DL Anyone else LB Anyone else DB cisco, cample, and Anyone else
I think we must retain chark, even if have to overpay. Next, get a top free agent WR and some free agency o-line.

Obviously Quarterman, Jack and Moses should be in camp, but who else do they add? I guess they have to take a swing in FA like they did with Wilson. |
