I honestly want Jim Caldwell.
Pederson sounds nice, but after thinking about it more.. are we not just getting another Doug. (pun intended) My point being that he had success with a really talented team in '17 and was pretty meh after that season. We show less advertisements to registered users. Horrible play calling. I dont want him no where near this team. He wouldn't be my pick either but as HC he wouldn't be calling the plays, that would probably continue to be Schotty in that scenario. The pluses would be that the players have confidence in him and seem to like playing for him. But so they did for Gus so... Anyway, if they're going to make a clean sweep, then everyone needs to go. If Baalke's staying though, choices may be limited and they could do worse.
I'm condescending. That means I talk down to you.

That would be the "we just need more and better players" choice. Continuity with the coaching and the schemes, Cullen stays, Schotty is the OC, etc. Maybe upgrade a few position coaches. Just no Urban Meyer. Based on rumors and speculation, of course, it would also be the the "we can't find anyone else 'cause no one wants to work with Trent" choice. According to Rapoport, O’Brien hasn’t interviewed yet. He is going to be interviewing tomorrow. Yuck. (01-12-2022, 10:09 AM)NYC4jags Wrote: Players on next coach: In other words, the complete opposite of Urban Meyer. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Why it's so important to get this coaching hire right.
People here tend to think I'm crazy when I'm always talking about stability. https://twitter.com/TonyDungy/status/148...92260?s=20 Worst to 1st. Curse Reversed!

BoB - disaster Leftwich - I have nothing against him, but we need an experienced HC to take charge. I don't think Leftwich has the experience, and it's hard to judge the real ability of someone who has been coaching Brady. ![]()

Brady and Rodgers both think highly of them which must count for something. Also for Leftwich Tampa had a top 5offence in yards and points before Brady arrived I think. Winston just threw it to the other team too much. That's the under-statement of the year. He had 30 interceptions! The Bucs were the worst team in the entire NFL in terms of giveaways. The team had a losing record. I don't think Leftwich can brag about that season. His success as an offensive coordinator is exclusively with Brady.

So much for SamusAranX's "source." He did tell us to assume he was 100% wrong. But if he's 100% wrong, then wouldn't he be wrong about being 100% wrong? It shows he can work with a star QB with a big ego. Not every coach can do that.

He had a crappy, turnover-prone, QB and still finished 3rd in the league in offense. Winston is terrible. He can't throw the ball for him. ![]() |
