In case anyone needs any more convincing that he would be a solid pick.

This. He has a vision and he knows how to build a system

I think we get a decision next week so unfortunately we’ll be waiting

It’s very easy to say elite qbs coach themselves, mainly because for the most part they do, but it takes a very good coach to get the respect of these qbs and to find one who can interact with them on an intellectual football conversation is very important and should be a quality overlooked

I feel like Flores would be better for this team. When you have a dysfunctional organization, you need someone with head coaching experience in my mind.

In a way, that's why I have Pederson as my #2, Flores and Harbaugh at #3.

I wouldn't argue that. I just think there are a lot of other things involved with being an HC that an OC or QB coach hasn't dealt with. And those guys can learn the new skills, no doubt. But given the current chaos of this organization, I don't want our HC to be developing skills. I want our HC to have proven, developed skills. Especially if he's going to have to deal with the corporate cancer that is Baalke.

I agree Caldwell is guy I want, I was just defending leftwich and Nath Hackett, in particular Hackett to be fair, we can all see from a far how Rodgers would test any coach he works with, and how he speaks of nath is a better endorsement than any coach or member of the media can give

I like Hackett in general, but I will NEVER understand why in the hell he stopped using that formation with Fournette AND Grant in the backfield in the AFCCG.

The pats had zero answer defensively for what we were doing out of that look. They had to spread out their LBs and safeties and we were able to run or pass to either back effectively every time we lined it up.

After halftime --- Hackett mysteriously abandoned the formation entirely.  WTH???

Do those bettors actually know anything?

If it's btween BoB, Bevell, and Leftwich, then it's Leftwich all day for me. I wouldn't be upset about it. It's just not my preference.

Leftwich does know football and he has high praises from Brady and Arians.

I mean, these people make money hand over fist by being right more often than not. The fact that they realized Byron +800 was potentially going to lose them a lot of money in less than one day is a good sign.

FWIW, at this point last year, I think Urban was the favorite.

Well, tbf it doesn't actually work like that. The odds go up and down to minimize their losses based on where people are putting their money.

Can we all just agree that when the announcement is made, at the most, the candidate will be less than ideal? We’ve come to expect bad decisions from ownership and everything we’ve seen so far indicates it will more of the same.

If it was Leftwich, I would not consider that less than ideal.

Same; if it's Leftwich, I think it's more probably then not that Baalke is gone. I would rather have him with a new GM in place then a slightly more "preferrable" candidate [by this forum] that retains the status quo.

Also, (and please do not get political in response to this), should the Jaguars hire Leftwich, we would receive compensatory draft picks. I’m not commenting on the pros or cons of the NFL policy, just pointing it out

Edit: I may be mistaken. Was that policy passed by the owners?

Man.

That’s just awesome.

I’m in for Leftwich.
