We need Spielman in the door ASAP, and we need to hire an OC that has not been rumored thus far because yuck.

In looking at things objectively, his draft last year was pretty good.

How do you even know that? Only Trevor and Campbell even played any sort of significant snaps.

Pending the Texans' hire, Pederson is now the only coach in the AFC South to win a Super Bowl as a head coach.

Do we now have the best coach in the division?

How long has it been since we've legitimately been able to ask that question?

Many do not know but Pederson was a Journeyman QB for years with the NFL. Andy Reid was his coach at one point.

You know damn well that Etienne and Cisco are going to be good pieces too.

I knew.

Plenty of good coaches were "scrubs" during their playing days.

Tony Dungy
Sean Payton
Mike Vrabel
Frank Reich

Not sure i'd call Vrabel a scrub.
I was wrong about Trent Baalke.

Yea Vrabel wasn't a scrub but I see your point.  I like the fact Pederson has QB experience in the league.

Point taken.

Amended statement: Vrabel was not a scrub...not a Hall of fame starter, either.

Feel bad for Byron but he will get his chance soon enough, he will be more ready then imo.

Agreed.

Another season learning from Bruce Arians is a great opportunity for Byron Leftwich.

So someone needs to see if Baalke is at the senior bowl practice/game. A scout better be there, so it may show what is happening there.

The only problem is that team is going to be completely different next year. They are probably going to struggle, so this was the year to make the move. Next season is a huge risk. Now next season could make him the #1 target and he could name his price if he is successful with that team next year.

I figured everyone knew that. A lot of backup QB's go into coaching. Just off the top of my head, I can think of 2 others, Zac Taylor of the Bengals and Frank Reich of Indy.

A reason why I believe next season will more likely than not make Byron Leftwich  at least a top 3 target is if the past is an indicator,  Bruce Arians and his overall staff will get much more out of the Bucs talent if the expectations are relatively low.   The 2017 season in which the Cardinals were decimated by injuries but still finished 8-8 was one of the best NFL Coaching performances I can recall.

I really wanna see how this front office is gonna be structured.

I also wanna know some coaches at key positions. I hope we get a much better QB coach, O-Line Coach and WR's Coach. Also, I pray to God that we don't go back to a 4-3 defense. We spent so much money restructuring the D-Line to fit a 3-4 scheme that we no longer have the personnel needed to be an effective 4-3 defense, especially at LB.

Because Leftwich doesn't have any QB experience in the league does he LOL.

Pederson as QB 55% 12 TD 19 INT.

Leftwich as QB 58% 58 TD 42 INT.

We can't afford to take a risk on an untried coach.

You mean take a risk on a failed head coach? I'll never get this line of thinking.

Yeah, why would we take a chance on a retread coach when they've won 15 of the last 20 Super Bowls?  What could they be thinking?

BTW, of the five exceptions to the rule where a coach was good enough to win a Super Bowl while still in his first stint as head coach, one of them happens to be named "Doug Pederson".

It's already been confirmed that Baalke is not at the Senior Bowl practices. Some scouts are there but Baalke has not been there at all.

If this had happened a month ago, I’m sure most people would have been happy about it. The hiring process has been a clown fiesta, but at least we came out with a great HC.
Was my number 1 option before I got a bit swept up in wanting a new 1st time HC to be the hire, just for some freshness.
Trevor seems happy, so I am happy
