The so called Foreign Aid leads to expectations for very dangerous concessions ( even pretending real peace is possible is extremely dangerous, including for the U.S. ) and limits trade opportunities for Israel. The reality of the situation is Israel only wins wars when it doesn't receive significant amount of government Foreign Aid. Ideally, AIPAC would no longer exist and that the U.S. would eliminate all government Foreign Aid to the Middle East ( and in the vast majority of other places as well ). I think it was very appropriate for us to help Israel when they were just getting started, but they are very secure now and prosperous. I agree with you. At this time, they shouldn't need foreign aid from our government anymore. They can afford their own weapons. I still think we should defend them if they are attacked.

I’m a Libertarian at heart that votes Republican for several reasons. Not least of because there are no viable Libertarians that are able to run and win. But I’m very much pro-life, not because of religious reasons, but because the babies need a voice. If we can’t protect the most innocent and vulnerable of humanity, then what the hell are we doing?
Most everything else, live and let live, do you but leave my kids out of it…

The opinion I hold that is most opposite my party? That's easy. I'm a Republican but I think Donald Trump is completely intellectually and temperamentally unqualified to be President and should never hold that office.

I'm a Republican but I think Donald Trump is completely intellectually and temperamentally unqualified to be President and should never hold that office. He's intellectually qualified. I think Donald Trump might not be as smart as other people who have been President, but he is well above average intelligence and smart enough for the job, so long as he gets the right group of people working around him. But he is temperamentally unqualified. He is not emotionally mature enough to see any kind of disagreement as anything other than personal. His opinion of his own intelligence is so high that he has a lot of trouble taking expert advice, even from people who share his worldview and goals. Which is why he was never able to keep the right people working around him for very long.

Trump is incapable of recognizing that. There are a lot of things I like about Trump, but he's not Presidential. He will do more harm than good if he runs for office again. I think you would get a lot of Republican and Trump supporters that would move away from Trump if the left would start holding the media accountable for its role in tearing the country apart. This means not falling for every stupid narrative they put in front of your face.

And do you mean the media that leans left or do you mean all media? Does the right have a responsibility to do the same?

This morning's CNN headline is right up your alley........"Newly obtained records shows Donald Trump and Jim Jordan spoke at length on morning of January 6."
When you get into the endzone, act like you've been there before.
These threads really wander off topic quickly.
What political position of your own political party are you most at odds with? My answer: I'm a Republican and I don't like Trump. Someone else: I wish more Republicans were that way. Then: Don't fall for ever stupid narrative the media puts in front of you. Then: What narrative? Then: How about the one CNN published about Jim Jordan talking to the President for 10 minutes on January 6? Only 2 pages in and we've moved on to the media, and January 6, and so on. I would really like to see some responses to the subject of this thread. That would be a lot more interesting to me than wandering off into our feelings about the media, and January 6, and whatever follows that. That's not really news because Jordan has consistently said they spoke multiple times that day. But Jordan has never said what they spoke about, and we still don't know to what extent Jordan or Trump predicted or planned for the attack on Congress. Obviously Jordan should be subpoenaed about it so we can get the full story, right?
