We picked up Treadwell off the street and in 6 starts had 30 catches for 410 yards. He was literally replaced by a more productive street FA after he was injured. Just a guy.

I agree here. I like Chark but he’s becoming Marquise Lee. Gotta stay on the field to develop.

He may not be a star WR, but he was better than anything else we had at WR by a mile. Keeping him would mean we'd at least have one decent receiver. Before he got hurt, he seemed like the only receiver who could catch Lawrence's passes.

7 catches in 4 starts before he got hurt. Not really eye popping numbers. I’m almost positive that we can draft or find a FA replacement to fill his role rather easily. If he’s set on leaving,… bye.

He got injured early in game four before he even got a target.  Those stats are really for 3 games.  Those 7 catches averaged 22 yards each and included 2 touchdowns.  Also keep in mind that the person throwing to him was a rookie quarterback in the very first three games of his career.  In 2020, he was being thrown passes from a quarterback who got traded in the off-season for a lowly sixth rounder.  Chark was wide open deep plenty of times but the quarterback couldn't take advantage.  In 2019, he was a pro-bowl alternate.  If he's healthy and has a good non-rookie quarterback throwing to him, I think there's a good chance that he returns to that form.  I want him back.

Chark is an okay B option at WR. Hes not a "#1" guy. Yeah I would like him to stay, but hes got to do what he wants, and he certainly isnt an elite player.

Peyton must store oxygen in that forehead of his. No way I'd still be alive after all that choking.

 

He'll be a good addition somewhere next month. If he can stay healthy he has plenty of potential. Will probably end up landing somewhere like Buffalo or Arizona and he'll quietly put up 60+ catches for 800+ yards.

This team has enough holes to fill. The deepest hole by far though is at WR. Hopefully a full court press is made the moment free agency starts.

FINALLY, someone is making sense. If DJ decides to step away from our Jaguars then that decision will be determined by himself, Baalke and Pederson. I see us giving him a Prove It one year contract. If he's healthy and productive he'll have leverage to warrant a true contract of his worth. I too would love for DJ to remain a Jaguar. We'll need him to right this ship.

If he won't sign a reasonable contract for a guy that has shown potential but nothing more then they should just be putting the franchise tag on him. The only other viable player to use it on anyway is Cam Robinson, and if they like him enough to give him the tag them just give him a contract. This team has cap space, and they can sign another guy in free agency, too.

Then they can give Chark another shot at a contract year.

Per Spotrac, the projected WR franchise tag is $18.5 million. The Spotrac site estimates Chark's market value to be $11.9 million per year (in a 4 year deal). PFF ranks Chark as the 10th best WR (51st regardless of position) available in free agency, with an estimated value of $13.4 million (in a 3 year deal). I am not a proponent of overpaying Chark in a one year franchise figure, if the tag is indeed around $18.5 million. I hope they find a way of signing him to a reasonable longer term deal.

Any chance we had at Godwin got tossed in the trash when we failed to hire Leftwich. Kirk is a #3 WR at best and Gallup is coming off an ACL. We need to find at least 2 really good WR's in the draft and I would advocate drafting 3, given our current state.

As much as I would like to keep Chark, I'm against franchising him. I'm leaning more towards franchising Cam Robinson, given how poor this OT draft class is.
