If he played longer he would easily been a first ballot Hall of Famer. He deserves to get in. Being elite for 5 years in the NFL is very special. I forget the gentleman's name that was on 1010XL yesterday. Think it was on the Dempsey show. He was a long time supporter of getting Boselli into the Hall of Fame. He flat out said that he's one of the top three offensive tackles he's ever seen. He put him right up there with Munoz and Ogden. If you do a quick search of "greatest left tackles of all time". You will get an NFL article from Gil Brandt. Out of 22 left tackles. He has Boselli listed as his 16th best. There's some damn good company on that list too with very, very long careers in the NFL. It's impressive and it's a testament to just how dominate Boselli was. Searcy loved playing with him. He said he was proud of him when he found out he started talking a lot of trash to opponents. He wanted to bully, bury and embarrass you out there. I remember watching those highlights as a kid where he straight up owned Bruce Smith and Jason Taylor. Hell of a player man. Hell, I remember even in some of those football games I had played well after he had retired, that, in some of the scouting reports? On completely made up tackle prospects? You would see notes in there like "Haven't seen a guy with this much footwork speed at this size since Boselli", etc. Just interesting little tidbits like that I always found fun to see. ![]() "What do I know of cultured ways, the gilt, the craft and the lie? I don’t think Jimmy gets in. Huge logjam of wide receivers. Freddy will tho someday.
I remember going to Regency square to get all the first Draft picks signatures on a Jag Pennant. Boselli was standing next to Rob Johnson when I told Rob to remember to head East not West to go to the beach. Boselli immediately cracked up laughing. Evidently Rob had done just that the night before with Tony in the car.

It’ll make his numbers look less and less impressive over time. That said, I think the NFL will run out of great running backs to enshrine once guys like Henry retire and I could see Freddy getting in at the tail end of his eligibility, if he’s lucky.

I met Boselli ONE time when I was 14 or 15 at a car dealership. He was the largest human being I had ever seen in my life. “Motivation alone is not enough. I think now that Boselli is finally properly being celebrated, the talking heads/stat geeks can start to focus on Freddy T and all the GOOD things he did. Number 17 all time on the career rushing list (everyone above him except Frank Gore and Adrian Peterson are in the Hall of Fame). Tied for 4th all time in YPC (4.6 YPC). Fourth all time for runs of 50+ yards (13). Then, much like Boselli: when you're PEERS who are some one the greatest to ever play chime in: Ray Lewis: "What Fred can do with a football in his hand, it's special." Troy Polamalu: "Fred Taylor is probably the best back ive seen in the NFL." Jim Brown: "Fred was one of the greatest running backs ive seen in a long time." Fred is one of those [players] you don’t really look forward to playing, because he’s a total back to me . . . Barring injury, he's one of the greatest talents we’ve ever seen touch a football. You kind of put him in that same category -- I don’t want to go too far -- but like a Bo Jackson, going through the injury, playing year-in and year-out. Everyone in front of him on that list except for the active players is in the hall, correct? He should get in eventually. Hopefully it won't be as long a wait as it was for Tony. Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
Mark Brunell will be presenting Tony Boselli in Canton. The ideal choice!

Correct: everyone ahead of him ELIGIBILE is in the HOF currently (Gore/Peterson not eligible yet). He's tied with AP for fifth all time at 4.6YPC, and is also tied for fifth all time with TD runs of 50+ yards (8) and fifth for 1000 yard seasons by a RB (7). Those are the numbers the presenters need to pound on. He's out run Larry Johnson, Jamaal Charles, Jamaal Lewis, Priest Holmes, Chris Johnson, Clinton Portis, Willis McGahee, and Shaun Alexander who had multiple Pro Bowl/All Pro/All Decade team appearances over him. Even MJD, who has 3 Pro Bowl/3 All Pro seasons in a 9 season career is still 3K years behind Fred, who played 13 seasons, but played 13 out of 32 games his last 2 seasons and only played a full 16 game season TWICE. Im not discounting what Terrell Davis did in his career, but he basically made it off the power of his 1st-4th seasons (61 out of 64 games played, 6413 yards rushing, 56 rushing TDS, 152 receptions, 1181 receiving yards, 5 receiving TDS). 3 All Pro, 3 Pro Bowl, 2 OPOY, 2 Super Bowls, 1 Super Bowl MVP definitely helped, but his last 3 years he played 17/48 games, 1194 yards.) Fred deserves to be carried among the pantheon of great backs in NFL History. He deserves the HOF. “Motivation alone is not enough. Statistically you can make a good case, but for me, the clincher is his highlight reel. This was a truly great running back. There are running backs in the Hall of Fame that could never make the plays Fred Taylor made. Mr. Jaguar has always been a HOF person, it’s nice to see his professional football playing career receive this well deserved distinction.
Respect the game. Play with a sense of urgency.
1.) Take care of the ball. Win the turnover battle. 2.) It's all about 3rd down. Win on 3rd down to win the game. 3.) Playmakers make plays. The only reason that you put your uniform on is to make plays. In order to EARN your paycheck, you must make plays. Learn from the great collapse of 2023.
