Fond memories of him stone walling Bruce Smith in the playoffs.  If he played longer he would easily been a first ballot Hall of Famer.  He deserves to get in.  Being elite for 5 years in the NFL is very special.

I've heard people make a good point, that if he had added 3 bad seasons onto his 5 elite seasons, he would have been elected on the first ballot.

I forget the gentleman's name that was on 1010XL yesterday. Think it was on the Dempsey show. He was a long time supporter of getting Boselli into the Hall of Fame. He flat out said that he's one of the top three offensive tackles he's ever seen. He put him right up there with Munoz and Ogden. If you do a quick search of "greatest left tackles of all time". You will get an NFL article from Gil Brandt. Out of 22 left tackles. He has Boselli listed as his 16th best. 

There's some damn good company on that list too with very, very long careers in the NFL. It's impressive and it's a testament to just how dominate Boselli was. Searcy loved playing with him. He said he was proud of him when he found out he started talking a lot of trash to opponents. He wanted to bully, bury and embarrass you out there. I remember watching those highlights as a kid where he straight up owned Bruce Smith and Jason Taylor. 

Hell of a player man. Hell, I remember even in some of those football games I had played well after he had retired, that, in some of the scouting reports? On completely made up tackle prospects? You would see notes in there like "Haven't seen a guy with this much footwork speed at this size since Boselli", etc. Just interesting little tidbits like that I always found fun to see.

Nah, with his off field demons and the fact that the nfl is so pass happy now he will be forgotten when these 17 or even 18 game seasons(and the stats that come with them) start to pile up. It’ll make his numbers look less and less impressive over time. That said, I think the NFL will run out of great running backs to enshrine once guys like Henry retire and I could see Freddy getting in at the tail end of his eligibility, if he’s lucky.
