I told my husband I no longer look forward to the new year. 2020 brought all manner of crazy, 2021 brought us the Bidet administration and 2022 has brought war in Ukraine, 7.5% inflation, a 61% rise in gas prices from a year ago, and all the crap that will trickle down from all of this.
No more. Carpe diem has never sounded better because we just don't know what's coming tomorrow. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!

It all makes sense when you see that it's 2020 won and 2020 too. “An empty vessel makes the loudest sound, so they that have the least wit are the greatest babblers.”. - Plato

It's hard to believe that just two years ago gas was $1.50/gallon on average in my county.

But the moderates and liberals on this board will bury their heads in the sand and pretend the nation is better now. Or worse, they'll blame Trump.

You're right about there being more to life than money but none of it pays the bills or puts food on the table. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!

You people take our freedom and wealth for granted. Forget Trump for a second. The question is really whether or not our lives are made better by democrats. The answer is no. Not in any way. They, along with many Republicans, are the establishment class. They don't care about the people. We have to start voting against the establishment and get back to people run government. Depends whose life we're talking about. I didn't qualify for that child tax credit, but my neighbors did. Statistics say that it dramatically decreased child poverty. Even so, that's not the question I ask. That question's too selfish for me, and sometimes circumstances are such that people's lives will get worse regardless of how wise the government is. Trump was trying to become a dictator. He was trying to persecute and prosecute his opponents and when that didn't work he called for violence to get his way. All of these things would make the government more accountable to him and his personality and less accountable to the voters. So the question I asked in 2020 was, regardless of which tax and spending policy I prefer, regardless of which immigration policy I prefer, regardless of any of my preferences, which candidate is more likely to preserve my ability to vote and influence government in 2021, 2022, and beyond?
