Drew lock is garbage but plenty of ammo for next year when the QB class is much much better. Be really bad next year and then draft Stroud or Bryce.

Wouldn't be a bit surprised to see them take Malik Willis at #9. They could do similar things with him as they did with Wilson.

They could also sit him behind Lock for a season if they don't want to throw him straight into the fire.

It is a weird move. Personally, there is no way I would trade a star QB this season. Anyone you replace him with is gonna be a major downgrade, not to mention that their O-Line is a mess and they have no RB to speak of. I really thought they might've tagged Duane Brown, but they didn't. Given the state of the LT position for many NFL teams, he should be in high demand even at his age. I doubt he'd wanna re-sign with Seattle now that Russell is gone. They already needed an upgrade at RT, so they may be shopping for a pair of new starting OT's.

It is a weird move. Personally, there is no way I would trade a star QB this season. I have liked him as a player over the years.  He's 29 now though.  Not sure how much he has left in the tank.  If he's still performing at his prime, he could help....but at what cost?

They might not be done dealing this year.  I wouldn't be shocked for them to bring in a veteran qb.  Marcus Mariota is a free agent.  He's not Russell Wilson obviously.  But he's starter quality.  There are others, too.  Winston.  Bridgewater.  Somebody's going to trade for Jimmy G.

Yea Mitch Trubisky seems to be a hot name on the FA market as well. He'll get another shot somewhere also.

Will be interesting to see what happens with Jimmy. This will be the final year of his contract and he just had shoulder surgery (today I think). Will he be healed up in time for training camp or not is a big question. Is a team going to trade for him on a 1 year lease and hope there isn't any set backs in rehab? Or do you trade for him with a contract extension agreement worked in and use the injury as leverage to add a couple more years for lesser $$$.

So, he might run a 4.45/40 now. That is still fast. He did have almost 1200 yards receiving last season and he's gone for over 1000 yards receiving in each of the last 3 years. It's not like he's slowing down or anything. He seems to be getting better and better. We need a guy like this. Desperately............

Jimmy G doesn't worry me at all. When he's healthy (which isn't that often,) he's just an above average QB.

He got the 49ers to a Super Bowl a couple of years ago, and had control of that game until the end.

He would get similar (though not as much) help in Indy as he had in SF.

I want Indy to suck for a while.  Let them keep Wentz or somehow downgrade.

Not sure if it was the clause or the fact that Seattle did not want to trade him to a team within the same conference. Interesting off season so far though. Next moves at the QB position should revolve around Jimmy Garoppolo and Deshaun Watson.

Some of the analysts on the national shows indicated that Washington made a better offer but Wilson has a no trade clause and wanted to go to Denver (and refused to go to Washington) so they were essentially forced to take the Denver offer or keep him.  He has 2 years on this contract so Denver will be put on the spot next year as he will demand a contract near the $50m/year range, at least that is the word on the Seahawks message board.

110% agreed. I said that a month or two ago somewhere around here. Really surprised they chose Pete over Russell. I would have cleaned house after that trade personally. I needed the draft picks to rebuild and Wilson had the right value. Made sense to pull the trigger. However, I want a fresh start in the coaching department as well. The NFC West is getting tougher and tougher by the year and they seem to have enough talent to edge me out. That edge honestly seems to be on the coaching side. 

Pete needs to go. Could have cut ties with Pete. Traded Russel and then looked at a coach like Flores.
