LOL it's a matter of semantics, isn't it? You derive expectations for what a player, can do, at least partially, based on historical performance. Sometimes there are mitigating factors that influence historical performance, like playing on a team whose scheme doesn't fit your strengths, but what they've done is a strong indicator of what they can do in the future.

It is guessing, but at least I have something to base my guess on. It isn't 100% by any means, but it's more accurate than going on potential. Potential led us to drafting Matt Jones.

Thats not what was the rumor about not wanting to play for Jax .Regardless of his contract he could have made it known to Dallas that he would sit out instead of playing for the Jaguars and Dallas in cap hell need to trade so they were willing to take less for him.

Also teams sometimes care about what the player wants. They can still ask his preference and do it even with a no trade clause.

I can't picture Jones turning down a better offer, just because Cooper didn't want to go to that team. I find that extremely unlikely.

Jones was trying to get rid of that contract. The browns were the only team to want to pay for the whole kit and kaboodle. But him not wanting to come to the Jags would not surprise me either. I'm glad we didn't pay full price for someone else's mistake. I'd rather pay for my own so they swung for the fences with Kirk. Kid pans out watch how many who running their mouth now as if they know will be shuffling to try and twist themselves in a pretzel to say they did not say anything negative about the deal.

If it meant getting a #1 receiver like Cooper over a slot guy like Kirk, Yes! Absolutely. Our receiving corps still sucks as it stands now.
