For the Jaguars draft complainers!

The Steelers dropped Pickett into an offense that immediately has Diontae, Claypool, Freiermuth, Harris, Pickens, and Calvin Austin. Ridder gets Pitts and London. Howell gets McLaurin, Dotson, Gibson, and Logan Thomas. To be fair the Titans screwed Willis. It's borderline criminal how bad the Jags have supported Lawrence compared to almost every other rookie contract QB. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!

At least Willis will have a year or two before he sees the field. They also spent their draft capital on replacing what they lost with 2 WRs, a TE, A RB, and a lineman. Seems like they had a plan to build for Willis in the future. “An empty vessel makes the loudest sound, so they that have the least wit are the greatest babblers.”. - Plato

(the chiefs darfted two defenders before addressing the vacuum left by T. Hill, and I don't think it's fair to say without Hill they're just as capable to drop 30 every Sunday.) This all comes down primarily to the fact that first and foremost you didn't like our FA haul. Had the FA we brought in gave more confidence, a defense-heavy top of draft is an easier pill to swallow, I get that. I feel that Doug has never been a win by blitzkrieg kind of guy, and there's a very different expectation of a 2nd-year QB and an established veteran like Mahomes; having a stable defense will allow some wiggle room for mistakes not to put us in an insurmountable deficit, hopefully. I sincerely believe that next year the prime focus will be finding our Jamarr Chase if Kirk (or Jones!) don't establish themselves in that role first. We're heading in the right direction. Go to the Steelers Message Board and you will see them complaining that they have the worst offensive line in the NFL and have done next to nothing this offseason to improve it. The Steelers Offensive Line consists of the following starters on their depth chart: * Moore Jr., Dan 2021/4th round * Dotson, Kevin 2020/4th round * Cole, Mason 2018/3rd round * Daniels, James 2018/2nd round * Okorafor, Chukwuma 2019/3rd round https://www.ourlads.com/nfldepthcharts/depthchart/PIT They've done nothing in their interior to help Picket or Najee Harris out.
Think we would have done better to ditch Baalke and not cash dump over pay in Free agency. He set his own table because Khan is locked in his corner.
I don't think the draft was too bad and I will hope for the best. We screwed the pooch and robbed Trevor his rookie year. Now we are a year behind and wasting time.

Apparently the Jags are ranked 6th on Brugler's "favorite draft classes" list

Wouldn't say "rich"; maybe "decent" or "adequate". Their WR corp was nothing great last year; I think Pickett is too green to come in right away and outperform Big Ben, and that's taking into account how mediocre [Big Ben's] last year was. We will see if they can elevate Pickett or the other way around. One other thing I really wish the Jags had done…. Take Ross in round 7 instead of some project CB.
Ross did have some medicals but it looks like the Chiefs (one of the best organizations in the league) were fine with him. We show less advertisements to registered users. I would have rather it been Bo Melton or Chris Paul. |
