Along with all those useless unelected power mad bureaucrats....

DOT proposal would require states to track carbon emissions from driving

Federal highway officials say the proposed regulation would bring clearer data, but critics say it’s an example of federal overreach

The Department of Transportation on Thursday proposed a new requirement that states and metropolitan areas measure the amount of carbon dioxide being released through driving on interstate highways and other major roads.

I don't understand this. We know how much gasoline and diesel are sold, we know where it is sold, and we know that it all gets burned up, so we know how much CO2 is emitted. What further info could be needed? I don't pay Bezos for news so I guess I'll never know.

I would just make up a number.  If they say that number is not correct, I would ask them for proof that it is not correct, and when they give you their number, say, okay, you're right, we'll take that number.

Problem solved.

Wow, a federal agency that wants to expand its oversight and control.  What a surprise!
