I know they are either old or very fresh faced, but maybe they could step in quicker with already knowing the defense?

Do either of those 3 PS players make you feel good about their ability to help the Jags stop the run?  I didn't focus on the Jaguars preseason so I can't speak knowledgeably about them.

Are they good, yet hidden by Jacksonville on the PS? Goalline situations? Run game? Push up the middle?

SIZE?

Antwine garnered praise form Pederson during camp. (He's 6'3' - 309)

However, the fact of the matter is that you can't just replace Fatukasi's run defense and interior push with something laying around on the league shelf right now.

Fatukasi was the league's third highest grade in IDL run defense last season and he continued that trend in Jax pre-injury.

The defense was gashed and tired. Turnovers and time of possession tell the story. The fact we held them to under 30 is a miracle. Jags should’ve lost big Sunday but didn’t. Signs of a good football team imo to make mistakes and still be in games anyway. I do think we need a body tho, someone with a good track record vs the run preferably.

This is how bad we need an additional Bigger, more stout body on the DL. I'm sure that the Coaching staff has deemed this to be an issue of concern at this point.

Caldwell is just going to have to get creative with gap control and crowding the line of scrimmage if they can't handle it without Fatukasi at the point of attack.

Injuries are going to happen though. This is when coaching and your personnel department start earning their paychecks.

Too bad we let that one bug guy go before the season started. Malcom brown I think was his name.

There's good options out there though. Star Lotulelei has been out of football since March. If you need a space eater for a week or two he may even be a good option at this point.

I also wanted the team to pick up Ridgeway in the draft.
Respect the game.  Play with a sense of urgency.

1.)  Take care of the ball.  Win the turnover battle.

2.)  It's all about 3rd down.  Win on 3rd down to win the game.

3.) Playmakers make plays.  The only reason that you put your uniform on is to make plays. In order to EARN your paycheck, you must make plays.

I remember once walking into a grocery store and saw him and another player signing autographs.  I considered buying a pot roast and asking him to sign it but I wasn't sure if he would be insulted.

It sounds like Corey Peters will be active for the game.

The defense has surprised everyone this year. It will be next man up and they should have a good game Sunday. Walker might get 2 of them thangs.

Mike Caldwell gotta find unique ways to keep Pierce under control. I don't think the Tinhorns have a good oline so it should not be as daunting as stopping the run vs the Eagles.

Hurts is what creates the problem with stopping the run vs the Eagles. Davis Mills isn't close to Hurts when it comes to running so there's little threat there. Even without Foley, I think we'll see the run defense play more like it did the first 3 weeks.

I am glad that they are giving Fatukasi time to heal.

He was solid for the Razorbacks. He was constantly flashing in 3 man rush sets and routinely bulldozed back the center and/or commanded a double team.

For 320 pounds he can hustle as well. Several times he would stay with the play and trip up a QB trying to sneak out and get downfield. Would have been a better value pick over Connor at RB IMHO.

Everybody looks at the Georgia tape and they didnt like it. It's Georgia. They beat everybody's [BLEEP] last year.

He was outstanding against Ranked 7 Texas A&M though and he flashed in the Texas game and a number of other games. Could have been a great rotational player for us. Has a wrestling background as well. Just seems to help.

Hopefully Hamilton and Roy with Gotsis can hold it down.

I think that Ridgeway has the potential to play multiple positions on the defensive line. The guy plays with a great motor and passion for the game and has great developmental potential imo. Give this guy a year to develop and he is in the rotation for sure. Would have even considered a future draft pick to obtain him although I know the 2023 7th rd pick was traded for CVL.

Corey Peters will be fine for a two game run...and will be good depth moving forward.  Lucky to have him on the active roster.   Old, yes, but gave quality minutes just a year ago.    If he's a smart run stopper...defense shouldn't miss a beat.

Brandon Scherff is no longer that dude.   Next season I want him gone.
