Honestly, next year the rest of the division probably gets weaker. Tennessee has been drafting poorly, Henry will be yet another year older, who knows their QB situation. Indy is hot or cold right now with Ryan, but he's not getting any younger either. Both teams are squandering some young talent there. Houston probably has the brightest future of the other teams, especially since they fired Easterby. But they're still in QB purgatory at the moment

If we develop as expected, the division will be prime for the taking next season.

Including having to go to L.A on the west coast to travel all the way back East to Philly to play in a [BLEEP] post Hurricane-Ian weather monsoon game. 

I don't think this division is THAT weak. It's all about perspective. I get the "you are what your record says you are". To an extent. However, the NFL might be looking at a strong division here soon now that they've gotten through some of their uglier stretches on the schedule.

I think we're on the right path. Can't worry about how the schedule plays out. This team just has to learn how to execute when it comes to situational football. The best part is that, despite some of the up's and down's this year, it's pretty clear the team responds well or at least shows the ability to adapt. 

They're getting close. Some of these closing drives will eventually go our way a few more times this year. Wouldn't be surprised if they manage to pull out another rout like they did in L.A against a team that we would least expect it to happen to. It kills me seeing some of you guys on here so down and out. 

A lot of you must have had some hefty expectations. This team, for what it's worth, man, they were horrendous these last three years. Absolutely horrendous. It's hard for some of you to admit this, but, you all damn well know you would rather have your hearts ripped out in a close contest Vs. being absolutely hammered into the ground. 

Think of it like this, right now? This is team is like Rocky. This year it's all about showing you can go the distance, you can go toe-to-toe and hold your own and stay in the fight when you're getting battered and beaten back into the ropes. 

Next year? Maybe, MAYBE... we'll be like Rocky II. We'll learn from this year. We'll start delivering those flurries and knockout punches to teams week in and week out. It's possible man. I like this roster. They're still not done building it and adding what they need to add to it. We all knew they couldn't get everything accomplished in one off season but what they've managed to achieve so far is pretty impressive.

There's light at the end of the tunnel man. I promise. It's not just a freight train coming your way. It's brighter days. To be sure.

In 1995 the Jaguars lost 6 games by 8 points or less. The following season they made some personnel changes on offense. The defense was a year better. And it was topped off with some hard nose football coaching.

2022 Jaguars surprised early, but we’re not going anywhere with this secondary. I hate to ride Griffin so much bc he seems like a cool dude, but once the league exposes you and figures out your weakness then you’re done. Griffin can’t run. Maybe he can make the switch to safety but your not going anywhere with that at CB. Dave Thomas couldn’t run either but he was physical enough that he didn’t have to.

Sum it up: They lose some heart breakers this year, playoffs next year.

Low Key: I’m still hoping a Super Bowl this year. Don’t judge me.

My point (which has nothing to do with Trevor and it’s funny you brought him up for no reason) is that I don’t think Daniel Jones can consistently win in this league.

They lose vs the Ravens on Sunday if Lamar doesn't throw a god awful INT while up 20-17 in the final minutes of the game. It was such a bad INT.

The thing I find really concerning is the cap situation. It’s just a serious problem winning only a handful of games and having no ability to add talent.

Yes, their is the draft, but how many holes can be filled in one draft? Not to mention this organization has been abysmal at drafting over the years.

Griffin will be out of here next year. He's eating up 7% of your total cap space to the tune of $16.4M. Rayshawn Jenkins is costing you $9.9M this year and he's a little over 4% of your total cap space. Then you have Roy Robertson-Harris at DT costing you $9M flat this year and 3.8% of your cap space. That leaves Engram and Marvin Jones on offense who both probably won't be back here next year. Combined they're tying up $17.5M and close to 7.5% of your cap space. Then Scherff at $8.6M this year and 3.7% of your cap space. 

A lot of these guys are going to have their positions backfilled next year. I think you're looking at Griffin's potential replacement already with Williams signed on this year. I think they'll have to make a decision on Jenkins in the off season as he's played relatively well early this year but there's still a lot of time there left for that to change. Head over into the college forum man. That's where a lot of this stuff is broken down. It's fun over there sometimes. 

But, at the moment. You're looking at CB, S & DT as top needs defensively next year and WR, TE & G on offense as top needs. Can they fill all of that in one off season? Maybe, maybe not. They'll try though. Walker Little at some point needs to get some work in at Guard. Unless they feel he's due to replace Taylor at RT next year in the off season. Bartch going on IR pretty much seals his fate IMHO. If they resign him he's more than likely your Tyler Shatley 2.0 depth player.

We will have no TE's next year at the moment going into the off season signed.

Bartch will be starting in JAX or will be traded.  In a classic case of “you don’t know what you’ve got until it’s gone”, John Shipley suddenly realised that Bartch is a top 20 guard in the NFL, more likely top 15 when you consider the difficult of assignment as the data below does.

The question on the line is at tackle.  Are they good enough?  My guess is that the team will decide “Yes, they are.”  They aren’t great but they are both doing OK.  And you would have to spend a first round pick to get an automatic replacement and that ain’t gonna happen.  Too many talent needs on defense and WR to be spending first round picks on linemen.  We may trade/FA in a tackle but will the knock the lights out on our current players?  Unlikely.  We’re almost certainly stuck with our current OL.

It’s funny how people keep going after T-Law, but I’ve watched every Ravens game this year and last. That INT Trevor threw against Houston? Lamar Jackson has thrown at least 3 INTs like that or worse this year.

This fanbase needs to stop trying to eagerly run ANOTHER QB out of town because of it’s childish impatience.
