There is progress.....

Yeah, in the first few weeks, not anymore

At any rate. You're both on here for a reason. We just want to see this team win. We'll eventually get there. May not be this year, maybe not even next year, but, at least once or twice every decade we know this team will pull at least one winning season or come out of left field with a play off run. 

This is true. No matter what we feel or perceive things to be. Low man is always due here in Duval county at some point. Had the 1990's late run. Had a few nice little runs in 2003 - 2010 with Jack Del Rio. Had that nice little run in 2017. We're just now getting into this new decade and I said it already. 

But, I truly feel like Doug Pederson is capable of pulling off, at the minimum, a nice little three to four year stretch of winning games to be in the play off hunt conversation or at least in the actual play off's. I really feel like that probably starts happening with next year's team. 

At some point they'll flip these mistakes into positive plays and we'll be looking at 5 - 3 or 6 - 2 football team come week eight of next year. That's just my opinion and feeling. There was progress. It's plateaued. Now, it's up to these guys to rise above that and start climbing back up into what progress should look like. 

I am still holding out hope this team pulls out six wins this year. I wanted six at the beginning of the year. They still have half the year to go to make it happen.

It'll sure feel good when we have that year of teasing, won't it

Just for this team to be better than last season isn't good enough.  Of course we mad a little progress we got our 1st round pick back in Etienne, 2nd year QB, 2 first round picks, and set the record in FA.  Last year was better than the year before but it still wasn't good enough.  What you want to look for is progression through the season, yet we have showed regression

And your myopia doesn't let you see what's right in front of your face. Last year was worse than the year before, not better. This year is far better than either of them. By the end of this year even your single-metric, can't-understand-the-concept-of-nuance self will have to agree.

Last year we won 3 games, the year before we won 1.  Imagine.  You are the guy that thinks 6 wins is better than 8 lol

All of the overreaction theater is just weird to me right now.

Before the season started, i looked at the schedule and thought we'd have 3 wins at this point.
We have 2.

We've also had an opportunity to win every game.
I did not expect that. They are more competitive than i thought they'd be.

I expected Trevor to look better in Pederson's system - but i didn't think his progress would look like a perfect 45 degree angle on a graph.
It started that way and then took a turn.
Probably turns north again soon enough.

I'm disappointed two highly paid free agents signings are not playing up to their contracts.

This pretty much sums it up.   Also the fact that the Jags totally blew out the Colts and Chargers in consecutive weeks kind of shows their potential when things really go right.  I mean, how many back to back weeks like that have we had since 2007ish --- probably none.

As info, the Bengals pretty much did the same 2 years ago in 2020 going 4-11-1 along the way prior to making the Super Bowl.

I know that your mind is made up and we're all wasting keystrokes, but consider this:

2021: A last second FG to win after starting 0-5 (with average loss by 11.8 pts), lose by 24, fluke win that I don't think anybody STILL understands how it happened, lose 8 straight by an average of 17.75, finish with the best showing of all season against a divisional opponent

2022: Lose by 6 with ball in hand in last 2 mins, shut out divisional opponent 24-0, upset a playoff team by 28, lose 5 straight by average margin of 6.4 pts, all with ball in hand in last 2 mins, [TBD]

Which is worse? The wins thus far in 2022 have been more significant. The losses have been closer. Cripes, without looking I'd venture the stats are better. But 2 is less than 3, right? Great, we're performing analysis at the level of a first grader.

Let's state it this way. You get to restart and endure the first 8 games over again, with exact same results. Which season you taking, 2021 or 2022?
