Minus Cisco.

Cisco would take offense to this.

They tightened up again and played the Chiefs competitively (didn't hurt that the Jags took out JuJu on a day the Chiefs were already missing Hardman, but hey, you can only play who's on the field against you). Still lots of dumb mistakes but its a, generally, young team still learning. Trevor took some huge steps today.

Can't be too upset with how this game went. Sure a win would have been nice but this is a team drafting #1 overall two seasons in a row playing a perennial AFC Championship Contender. There was a bit of a wall in the middle of the season, I felt, with overall team progress, but these past two weeks it seems the ship has been righted and everyone necessary is improving again. That's all you can ask for out of a season like this. Hopefully it continues to the end of the season and next year we can start looking forward to a playoff push.

An unlucky game but a missed opportunity to give us a chance of making it a game. Couldn't close the gap enough to make it a game

Good time to have a bye and get players ready for the 2nd half of the season. Your starting to see the players who get it and the ones that aren't.

Yep, even in 2017 it was a soft defense. It's a Jaguars calling card the last fifteen years.

Tacks front four plays like its actually worth having the 2nd most cap space on it invested defensively.

Yall say a prayer for Trevor man. He gonna need it... twice.

Stats from the game are kinda interesting. Especially penalty yardage:

The 2018 team went to KC and lost by 20 in a game that didn't feel the least competitive. This game today feels like the team is on a completely different track.

Yeah. 5 for 30 with Kansas City getting away with offensive pass interference at least once, defensive pass interference at least twice, a chop block on 4th down and a handful of holding on offense.

They had ZERO [BLEEP] penalties. What a [BLEEP] joke!

Yeah you’ll never get me to believe that ANY team plays a penalty free game.

I am 100% on board. They just need another player or two on each side to give them those splash plays on offense to score and those sacks on defense to close it out.

They're on the cusp of flipping these losses into wins. I won't say play offs next year but being above .500 with a shot to win a fledgeling AFC South is very real in 2023 and a play off run in 2024 is reasonable.

New England did in 2017. Either had 0 penalties or 1 penalty for 5 yards against us in the AFC Championship.

Pats had 1 penalty for 5 yards in that game and it was on Special Teams at the end of the game. Was meaningless.

I agree. This team feels like they have talent, they just need to pull it all together to gets some wins.

Do you remember how bad they were defending the run before they traded for Marcell Dareus? Even after they traded for him they were only decent, never great at it.

I just want to say that last Pederson challenge should have gone our way.

The receiver caught the ball,  one foot landed,  and the rest of that same leg was out of bounds.

We got totally [BLEEP] on that "official review".  I hope Pederson calls [BLEEP] up to NY on Monday.

That was clearly not a catch.

Jags lose by 10.

Lawrence was OUTSTANDING today. Played his best game IMHO as a Pro today. Hard to beat the refs and overcome TD nullifying penalties, bad pass protection, no running game and missed FG's.

He didnt make any mistakes today. Still lost by 10 on the road. Not because of him. Thats a reason to be hopeful with plenty of football left this year.

Agreed, they were opportunistic with TO's, and scored a lot, but not what I would call 'tough'. Played a lot of weak offenses that year, particularly the Browns, Texans, Bengals and the pre-Jackson Ravens. Got worked by the 9ers and Jimmy G as I recall. And the Rams.
