The New Beginning

Defensively they just need to convert a few of these pressures into sacks and figure out the backend with the zone coverages.

I think they can split the series with the tacks. I think they'll get their revenge in Houston against the tinhorns. That's my six wins there for the year. I will be happy. Anything after that? I'll take it. That's just a bonus. Win in a shootout with the Lions. Upset the Jets. Make it a close game with the Ravens. Fine by me. I just don't see them losing severely anymore.

Pretty impressive with this coaching staff. Had they hired Pederson last year we're probably looking at a divisional winning team or in the play off hunt at the moment. Good football is just around the corner.

Math isn't adding up.

I think there's gonna be a big media hype train about us being a playoff team next year in the preseason.

I don’t think that anyone else is that good so it’s certainly possible.

We kind of do have an unfair home advantage here in Jacksonville.  The decibel lever is unreal.  Oh wait, that's from the opposing fans.

As info, the Cowboy fans will be here in droves.  Tix for that game have gone for 4x above the season ticket holder price so this is the game where fans made back some money they wasted on paying for 2 preseason games.

The last time I remember losing close actually meant something, was college football BCS before the playoff system. Back when the top 25 was computer generated lolol

I've already dropped $200 for 2 season tickets for next year.

I haven't had season tickets for ages. But this team... this team - with this coach - is going to be fun to watch.

Honestly, I don't give a [BLEEP] if we ever win a superbowl. I just want to go to the stadium with my kid and scream our heads off and know that we're going to fun.

It hasn't been that way (besides 2017) for decades... but this coach and this QB are turning out around.

This year losing close may mean something between OSU and Michigan.

Got my tacks and tinhorns mixed up. My bad. Meant for them to split with tinhorns and get their revenge in HOU and sweep the tacks. tall order. I know. Sweeping the tacks is unheard of.

However, the way I see it as this. They clearly wanted to build this defense around the divisional opponents who are all run heavy for the most part. The only outlier being Ryan smoking us with easy stuff on the road.

They went after run defenders and run stuffers in free agency. If they don't at least sweep or split the series with the tacks and get back at the tinhorns I'll be disappointed. If they split the entire division and go 3 - 3 this year that's not too shabby for this team.

If they could accomplish back to back wins this season I would be a happy fan. IMHO, that’s the turning point.

Trevor has been progressing, Etienne is a star, and overall offense has been clicking. Hopefully we can start to close out these games and finish this season strong. I would take a worse draft pick in exchange for more momentum for this team headed into 2023. Do you guys think we can win 3-4 of the next 7? What would you have to see to have confidence heading into 2023?

The New Beginning started when Doug was hired as our HC. It'll take time to see the benefits.

Would be fun to run the table n somehow make the playoffs.

Extremely unlikely, but you know.. I guess it's possible.

6th worse team in the league in sacks with 27
7th worse team in the league in interceptions with 7
3rd worse team in the league against the pass

Boy the defense is alarmingly bad considering the money we spent on it. However, there are some great developmental pieces that may start paying off soon, mainly Lloyd and walker. We desperately need a pass rush though. The coverage is exposed by the lack of pressure (I know it’s a two way street). I think Lloyd missing all that time in preseason hurt. He may start to truly hit his stride the second half of this year.
