I don’t blame Trevor for the fumble. Offense was dead and he was trying to make a play. Blame the play calling if you want to but I’d be more disappointed the qb not try to make va play.

I'd rather he had better awareness and just eat the sack, rather than try and make an impossible play.

Like in the past, when he had first and goal and instead of throwing the ball away, he tried to fit it in a small window and got picked off.

Then he did the same thing a few games later. He's gotta be smarter than that.

On the third and goal before the half he threw the ball away on a rollout pass. That’s the exact same play that he threw two end zone turnovers before against the Texans and the Broncos that proved to be back breakers. By making the smart move and not forcing it he gave us three points that proved to be crucial and prevented a lost of confidence moment

So as of now, Trevor Lawrence has 16 TDs with 6 more games to go.  He is on a pace to throw 24.7 TDs.    Last year he has 12 TD passes.

This is his first year in Pederson's offense. 

It obviously doesn't always work out with this franchise.  But games like today are why I urge patience.

Exactly Bullseye. That's what some of us have been saying all year, be patient, let him progress and improve and you'll start to see results and performances from him.

Sadly a lot of people took the 'generational talent' tag he had put on him and expected perfection from the start and if he made a mistake or had a bad game then he was a bust. People were ready to write him off so quickly it was very weird.

There wasn't a play to be made there.

He scrambled, ran out of room, and basically froze with indecision.

He should have thrown the ball away or tucked it and just taken a sack.

If you haven't found a receiver after 6 seconds you need to protect the ball, not act like you can keep extending the play while pursuit is hot on your heels.

100%. The call wasn't the best but he saw nothing was there, threw it away and took the 3. Sounds simple but when your the QB and its all on you and you have that belief in yourself you'll take the unnecessary risk. I did at the time I didn't mind that play today as it showed he is learning and its a 60 minute game. Like you say, those are the things that come 4th Q with 2 mins left make a lot of difference.

This season isn't about draft position. We have a QB. It's about him gaining confidence in his abilities. Keep winning baby.

And that's why I was all for Doug going for that 2 pt attempt at the end of the game. 

You're 3-7, what the hell do you have to lose? Show your squad you trust and have full confidence in them to win that game right there. Things like that go a long ways for a young team trying to find it's way.

The Offense had a shakey 3rd quarter, but he was money for most of the game.

This game was different. This was above the stats. All three TDS and the two point conversion were perfect passes. This was the best velocity and arm strength that he's shown so far. His decision making was on point, but this was the first time he Dominated a team with his arm talent.

In that context, best play of the game was the throw away on this down to end the first half. We've seen him force that ball into coverage ad loose games. On a game we're he was FEELING IT that's growth from a second year QB.

I made this comment in another thread but with the way our defense seems always give up a go ahead score late in the 4th, feels like our offense will typically need two game winning drives.  Had to score on our last 3 possessions of the game.

Throw in the fact the #1 RB went out and while Hasty did some good things, he also had the missed protection where he ran into Lawrence and the false start, this was all on Lawrence to win this for us and he took us down the field to give us the lead
