Jaxon

I keep coming across "controversy" in local news and social media regarding Jaxson's body suit and speedo from Sunday.  He's worn that get up before.  Not sure what the big deal is about.  I ran across this video from Kyle Brandt documenting the history of Jaxson De Ville and found myself walking down memory lane with his antics through the years.  I was not aware of the mascot conduct video from 2000 where 9 1/2 minutes of the 10 minute video was dedicated to Jaxson, lol.

Jaxon is a [BLEEP] legend and a National Treasure

All the years of losing teams, and this mascot has been the gem.

Curtis was awesome as Jaxson. I loved watching him at the games. I haven't seen this new(er) dude in person but Sunday made it clear he is The Man. His uniform got wet before the game? No problem! He went out and did his job anyway. I thought it was great! Lol

There is actually people who got mad/offended by this. Geniunely can't understand why.

There was one dude on Instagram who said he hates all things Jacksonville but loved Jaxson's attire and antics on Sunday. Lol.

I don't get the ones who were offended. A bunch of prudes I guess.

You’re forgetting that, generally, people suck.

If you don't like Jaxson, you're just mad cause your mascot sucks..

All his critics are coming from fans of other teams.

It was a pretty fantastic getup this past Sunday. The wedgie and hip thrusting were cracking me up.

There was the moment where he wore a speedo and a Khan moustache dancing to "Sexy and I know it".

Jaxson has more than one uniform as in when he dives into one of our pools.

I don't want to start a new thread, so I'll put it here. Poor Josh Lambo is still trying to shake the money tree hoping something will drop. I hate to see this considering at one point he was one of our more popular players.

Seeing Jaxson on Sunday... My first thought was, Oh heck yeah! This is golden age Jaxson!!!

My second thought was, damn, we better not lose or this will be used to clown us.

My 3rd thought was, "I love this team!"

I miss the Classic Jaxon, getting the crowd into it during timeouts and taunting the opposing team. Sometimes he crossed the line but he was genuinely awesome. Jackson 2.0 basically disappears after the bungee jump. Maybe this is a signal that he'll get more involved again. Probably wishful thinking.
I'm condescending. That means I talk down to you.

It's a corporate structure. I'm sure there is so much [BLEEP] he had to deal with after Sunday. Even that video from OP tells a story. You know there were corporate lackies trying to shame Jaxson into changing out of the body suit in the middle of that game. But he kept it together, he told those D-bags to shove it, and kept on for the entire 60 minutes.

In this day and age, to have a dude running around in a USA speedo, painted yellow and teal, with a stoopid big ole Cat head, is reprehensible to the conservative PublicRelations/Billionaire crowd/SelfRighteousReligous Crowd. The shock of it! The sexuality! The grooming!!!! The blasphemy!!!

And yet there was our Jaxson. Owning it and loving every minute of it. It was a Gen X scene I haven't witnessed since the late 90s and early 00s. And I, for one, am all about it.

Curtis Dvorak, the old Jaxson, had some interesting interviews on 1010X. He finally quit the gig because it was so physically taxing and described different stages of heat exhaustion and near unconsciousness. One schtick he did involved him doing a combat crawl on the field, but the reason for it was he couldn't stand because he was so close to losing consciousness. So, he winged it until he could get to where he needed to be in order to get into the locker room to cool off. Where, he admits, he had a small TV setup so he could watch the Washington Commies play during breaks because that has always been his favorite team since he was a child. He also divulged there are police snipers positioned up high in the stadium for every game because he had to pass them in order to reach his jump platform.

I think it was Curtis that was the Jaxson when I first got Season Tickets back in 2007...  The show he put on was amazing.

May all Jaxon DeVilles wind up millionaires and married to the hottest Jaguar Cheerleader of his time.

Ah-men

And the D-Line drum squad back in the 00s was freaking amazing as well! Loved those kids

That's what he said. It wouldn't surprise me. A buddy of mine who works security for the games tells me a lot goes on behind the scenes that people don't see. He also tells me security has a group of guys who are very skilled at take down and submission techniques to defuse situations that threaten to get out of hand. He says they're not big hulking bouncer looking dudes either, just plain everyday looking guys who can quickly make enraged grown men behave like school children.
