*** Official Game Thread - Week 13 Jags @ Loins***
|
After today's loss it's obvious. Lawrence needs better pass protection. Lawrence needs a legitimate pass catching threat to open everything else up. The turnovers that plagued them early should go away next year but they still need a legitimate, commanding presence out there on the outside.
It's also obvious that Caldwell cannot coach this defense into a succesful unit with his first attempt at that role but it's even more obvious that Baalke has severely overvalued the defense over the last two years via the draft and free agency and it's the most glaring issue. There's simply been a severe lack of impact, push, streakiness and consistency on defense in a positive way this year. That's a combination of lack of talent marrying a lack of experience in Caldwell. Sent from my SM-S906U using Tapatalk ![]() "What do I know of cultured ways, the gilt, the craft and the lie? I don't care if you score 6 points 10 points 40 points You have the lead late in the fourth quarter and the defense blows it every single time those losses are in fact on the defense (12-04-2022, 05:09 PM)ChrisJagBoy Wrote: I've defended the defense a bunch this year, but theres no defending this performance that was awful. I'm condescending. That means I talk down to you.

And with those five turnaways Trevor was the player who put us within that one score.... With all those turnovers it was Trevor who put us within one score.... It was the offense that kept us in that game regardless of what happened.... Now go do some more homework and look at the other games where Trevor came down and took the lead late in the 4th quarter to have the defense blow it.... Drop passes and fumbles have nothing to do with the o line... Are you seriously trying to blame this on offense when Detroit literally scored on every single possession they had 14 points is just horrid in todays league. Sure the defense was trash but so was the offense and thats starts with the most important player leading them...
Today proved how overall bad Baalke’s roster is and we’re gonna be tight on the cap next year. And khan will once again stay loyal to the snake. So basically, more losing seasons ahead

Everything the Lions did today was good enough to land a FG or TD. Agreed with Baalke. Two years in. Two years heavily invested on defense. Not impressed. Today was the back breaker for me. Whether it's Caldwell. Whether it's Baalke. Whether it's both. Which, often times it is. Somebody needs to answer for this. Premium picks on defense. Premium cap space tied up on defense. Defense gets routinely schooled quarter by quarter and it's not even [BLEEP] close. Sent from my SM-S906U using Tapatalk ![]() "What do I know of cultured ways, the gilt, the craft and the lie? Reading out minds Trevor, reading our minds....
Yeah the biggest thing that came out of today is Trevor survived the injury scare. I’ll take a loss and a healthy Trevor over a win and an injury any day.
Lawrence just needs to start chewing some [BLEEP] on the sidelines.
I do want Baalke to go, and I do want to bring in an all new defensive coaching staff.
But I don't want to put any more premium picks or high priced free agents into the D. Every singe resource has to go into fixing the pass blocking and the receiving. I want Trevor to have a chance to become that top 5 QB. Build the D after we see that result.
My fellow southpaw Mark Brunell will probably always be my favorite Jaguar.

U cant blame this on Lawrence
He was our best player on the field in that gsme considering the Swiss cheese of a Oline he had to deal with + recievers who seem to love wearing butter and grease gloves
This is the first time I didnt finish a game. I fell asleep and missed the second half. I wake up and see the 40 slugs. Sheesh smh
The defense was just total garbage. To allow a team to score on every single possession at the professional level is truly pathetic.

Offense has sputtered at times, but the defense has been truly awful since the eagles game . |
