Based on his BS excuse, this sounded intentional. Which was kind of the point of the article. It also said its happened for 5 years now. This is not a mistake, this is a pattern.

I would suggest just plain old 'bipedal mammalian unit', but that would be ableist. 

It never stops with them. If starting tomorrow everyone decided to abide by their wishes, it would only be a short matter of time before they found those edicts abominable and would demand something else. 

It's a tortured mindset. One that doesn't truly seek equity, but continuous grievance.
