I just finished watching Uncle Tom on Amazon. That was interesting. A lot of info there I either didn't know or don't remember learning in school. I probably never learned any of it in school to be honest. 

I loathe how leftist academia decides what is learned in school to fit their narrative. I hate how the leftist entertainment industry decides how to portray actual events to fit their narrative. I remember very specifically when the first post 9/11 episode of SNL and/or David Letterman show came on and the media said something to the effect of how that gave America permission to laugh again. I was thinking, "what the hell? No one in Hollywood gives me permission to do anything." But I digress.

We are truly a nation of sheep who listen to the wrong voices. A broad statement but true. The people in that documentary were more specific with their statements.

It was SNL.  They brought on Rudy Giuliani to say they could start their show again, and one of the cast members asked, "But can we be funny?" and Rudy deadpanned, "Why start now?"

I didn't see the show as I was living in Germany at the time. I just remember the media reaction to these people giving us "permission" to do something. They fawned over it like SNL and David Letterman were the end all be all. It was just weird. I had on rose colored glasses back then.

Sitting here watching the news this morning and the big topic was how fentanyl is finding its way into more common recreational drugs such as marijuana. This kinda points to one thing for me, and maybe I'm way off target here, but this tells me that they're getting ready to legalize marijuana.

Let me explain how I crossed that bridge..

I know we have a huge fentanyl problem in this country, it's pouring into the border like a mass wave, and thankfully, some of it is being captured by our border security. But this story felt like fear mongering to me. It makes me think that they're trying to put the fear into people about where they get their marijuana. So naturally, when marijuana does get legalized, the safest place to get it is from our state and government. Which in turn, gives the state and government more of our well earned dollars.

Am I reading too much into it?

Is there any state that really lets you grow your own? Pretty sure everyone who wants to grow needs a license to grow, and getting a license wouldn't make sense financially unless you intend to sell a surplus at a profit. So it's already the case that you can't grill your own. Am I wong?

There are obviously many good cops of all skin colors.

There are also obviously many black people who have internalized hatred for black skin.  People who have been taught things like, "you've been educated, you've brought yourself up, but you've still got to watch out for those uneducated negroes out there."  The ones who were told, "stop doing so good in school.  You're acting white."

Yes, but it seems some black lives matter more than others.  If a black life can be used to whip up racial fervor to suit the left's black vs white agenda, then it really, really, matters.  Sadly, I'm sure there are some people that when they first heard of this tragic event, were disappointed to hear that none of the officers were white.

It's already possible for police officers and cities to be sued.  If the judge allows the case to go to jury, they always settle.
I suppose a new law could direct the judge to draw from a pension fund first, when a lawsuit is won, but this would have implications for other pension funds, not just the police.
