Could we be looking at possibly of compensatory picks for the first time in awhile?

Rumor is we’re in the lead to try and sign Za’Darius Smith.
Hopefully it happens! He’d. be a great addition to this defense.

I’d imagine we’re losing Arden key

Outstanding. Love to have him back. He's a locker room guy, fan favorite and he's been pretty damn good in spurts and spots when we needed him. Should only be better in year two with Caldwell. These are the kinds of signings that make me happy. It's just one less position to worry about exhausting a draft pick towards next month.

Agree with this, he seems to pop up when we need him.

After 2023 what O-linemen do we have on the books?

We need to pick up two O-linemen in the draft, and one on them needs to be able to play this year if an injury happens.  We don't even know Cam's health status.

OLine is incredibly important right now.
Can't really disagree with this either.

Oline and pass rush are likely top 2. I brought up Darnell Wright as a potential round 1 pick for the Jags in another thread. Have him start at RT, Little at LT and Cam at LG.

I don’t disagree at all definitely going to need ol help , but in fairness to my Washington statement all the draft experts say having him out there is like having an extra offensive tackle, so if the value isn’t there in round one on the o-line he might be able to help a lesser talent while they develop.

As for cb again I agree it’s a need and I’m not going to pretend to know but Bucky brooks last week was saying there’s not much difference in talent this year in the top 12-15 corners so might be able to fill that hole in the second.

I think having Washington is a plus for this football team. I wouldn't mind the selection 24th overall. I have cited a number of options over in the college forum.

I really think we can get some sold additions to this offensive line in RD2, RD4 and even RD6. Also, again, we have a boatload of picks in RD4 that we can package up and maybe creep back up into RD2 and/or RD3 with to snatch another starter.

I would love to see that line up though. Washington at TE next to Little at LT and maybe even Robinson at LG while we have a newcomer at RT from day 2 of the draft and another solid Guard or swing tackle in place incase something happens.

By moving Robinson to LG we're essentially getting Bartch back on the bench and Shatley back on the bench. It bodes well in our favor. We also gave up a 7th RD pick last year for Van Lanen. It's not like Baalke is incapable of turning the waiver wire and making moves. He moved up twice last year to get Lloyd and Connor.

Hopefully the evaluations are right about those two guys though going into 2023 and beyond. We really can't afford to keep backfilling positions of need.

He's a rush guy, so kinda makes sense. But yeah, another LB.

I would not want him back at any price, after he FAKED AN INJURY TO FORCE US TO TRADE HIM.

While I do understand why that's bad, I also can understand why he didn't want to be here. I'd feel pretty weird if I was 1 of the reasons a team almost made a SB and then get disrespected by old man coughlin and watch a terrible Bortles get paid while I stay on a rookie deal alongside the rest of our younger players on defense who deserves to be paid.

Let's not forget, the NFLPA said the jaguars made up most of the league complaints during that time.. and tho he went to the most extreme to leave, it's pretty clear he wasn't the only guy who wanted out.

We FINALLY have a worthy quarterback, and folks just want to tempt fate with his protection.

It's maniacal.

Yeah I have to agree with the old guy here, o line is really important especially with Taylor going.

I think most people here (at least me) would be less bothered if he had sat out and lost the game checks. If it is about pride/ principles I can respect that, even if I don’t agree. He wanted out while being paid for a job he refused to do. Faking the injury and mocking the Jags/ fans afterwards was a bridge too far for me.

I'm almost certain that interview he gave, he said he loved jacksonville and the fans and specifically had a problem with the front office.. I get it tho, I'm not saying anyone is wrong to not want him here for those reasons.. I'm just saying that i'd be fine with a player of his caliber coming back at a position we kinda need.

I remember this differently.  He arrived at training camp with what a brinks truck? When he didn't get the new contract he wanted he got an attitude. Unfortunately we had a couple other A personalities in the organization and he began a pissing war with them.  This was brought to a head when he went over their heads to the owner. Our owner stepped in and met with him and by all accounts (even by him) smoothed things over.  That's when he faked a back injury to force a trade so he could cash in now!  He never loved anyone but himself. so you can quit that now. I wish him well in his new location. He was successful where his coach wasn't in abandoning ship. Maybe because he has experience at it.

The original reason for his issues were that Tom Coughlin scolded him like a child because of the little spat between him and Marrone on the sideline, and even tho Marrone and him were both cool after the fact Tom treated him like he was a child and he took offense to that, and then couple that with watching Bortles get paid undeservingly while himself, Yannick and others were left on rookie contracts for no reason..

We can remember differently, that is ok. So, you remember he got his feelings hurt due to a scolding, Then he was jealous because someone else got paid. I believe that has happened to all of us in our professional life. YeaSureAlright. makes sense to fake an injury then and destroy your credibility.. I do hope we play against him only to see if Ridley can steal his soul.

Imagine if we gave Jawan Taylor that 80m contract when it was time for Trevor to get an extension and we just ignored him. When one guy is actually important to the franchise and the other is an average player, i'm sure he'd feel some way too. Also what i'm saying comes directly from an interview from Ramsey that's on youtube, not my memory.

This is the point in FA where teams like the Ravens or Chiefs sign someone and the league goes “wow. What a steal!”

Hoping that’s gonna be the Jags here going forward.

Dude, is ok to get your feelings hurt, is ok to say you will not play till you get what you feel you deserve. It is not ok to FAKE an injury so you can get what you want. There is no way you can justify those actions.  That is dishonest and borderline theft? So try a different audience to get sympathy for the guy.
