Trent Baalke we are not worthy!

Bring the Mayor home Baalke.
Respect the game. Play with a sense of urgency.
1.) Take care of the ball. Win the turnover battle. 2.) It's all about 3rd down. Win on 3rd down to win the game. 3.) Playmakers make plays. The only reason that you put your uniform on is to make plays. In order to EARN your paycheck, you must make plays. Learn from the great collapse of 2023. I’m thinking the mayor is not going to be re-elected unfortunately. Probably he is looking for a higher salary than we can offer. I hope I’m wrong, but I’m thinking he is headed elsewhere.
As I've stated earlier I'm not on board w/Campbell back in Jax. due to his skills has diminished over the past three years. I do understand his desire to continue chasing a Ring and if we were to make this move, I'll support his presence BUT I'd prefer us drafting and grooming at the position.

At least he has been. He had more sacks than key last year and is still very good against the run. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Older Campbell is still better than almost our entire defensive pass rush.

They are really close to being good. Just a fraction of a second late to finish on some of those "almost sacks" I've been saying it since October, but a good nickel and an IDL disruptor will set this defense on fire. Older Campbell would help this defense be better for 20 snaps a game. A younger Campbell would light it up. I'll take whatever we can get from him for a year or two if he steers this way.
I would want CC for the production he could bring to the table. Additionally, is it accurate to say he could also teach Travon Walker some technique, or is that an unrealistic expectation?

If he does sign up the first words he might hear on walking through the door are ... "Welcome back Mr Campbell, you know your way to the changing room and here's your locker right next door to Mr Walker" Not unrealistic at all, if I was Walker is be banging the door down for him then pin myself to his hip for the year to see what I could learn.

As for Baalke, the proof will be in the pudding but i quite like what he's done this off-season ....
He had the big spending spree last season and did pretty well. This season he's had to change tack and address things a slightly different way and Id say I think he's made a pretty decent hash of it all told. There wasn't huge cap space there, but he's restructured, kept a large number of the players Pederson presumably wanted to keep, waited to make use of the small amount of funds he had on two or three smart moves which look like offering sensible small improvements (especially Johnson and Campbell if he signs) and the thing I really like is he's clearly had a plan in terms of what he's prepared to pay. We'd all have liked to keep Key and probably Taylor but it wasn't going to happen so he's banked his comp picks and moved on, something more productive franchises have been doing for years. Sounds easy but it would have been really tempting to put a few million more into especially Key (and popular) or doing something silly with Taylor and ending up boxing his options. Cast adrift on the ocean waves of free agency, previous Jags front offices might've seen the sea water coming over the sides of the ship ... and drilled a hole in the hull to let it out ![]() It's nice to see a mix of FO and senior coaches who seem finally to be in lockstep and have a clear and relatively simple idea of how they'd like to go from A to B ... Without detouring through X, changing stations at Y and putting the car through two fences and a tree at Z along the way. I've laboured my point on other threads so I won't do it here too but his next challenge up is the draft and if he can pull out a couple of good starters and a good contributor or too as well i'd say most reasonable folk would be hard pushed not to say Baalke would have done a nice job this offseason. All eyes towards round one and I wish him well with it, hope he can nail it!
This is a nice read on Baalke w/respect to how he handled the Clowning. An indication of where we've been, where we're at and where we're headed.
