Not sure, just saying, at most bars domestic adjunct beer is the cheapest option.  Whether gay people stereotypically prefer craft beer, wine, shots, or cocktails, all of those are more expensive options.

Blue collar workers, especially older tend to be brand loyal.  They like their “nascar beer brand” and stick to it.  If I were a guessing man that marketing specialist is counting on those bud light/AB loyalist to have short memories and eventually wander back after the initial outrage.  Time will tell.

I buy 12 packs of it at Publix or total wine occasionally. 
Miller Light is next in my preferences of domestic light beers. 
Coors is third for me. 

Anyway, I'm drinking a lot less beer these days, so I tend to go for something more flavorful than domestic lights when I do have one or two.

I remember when people boycotted Nike by cutting off the swooshes on their socks.... Nike is doing just fine.

Or when people boycotted the NFL (Lol) and said the NFL will go down hill.... NFL is doing just fine.

If I'm in the mood for domestic light beer it's
Michelob Light if I can find it, otherwise,
Miller Lite.
Bud Light, Coors Light, Keystone Light, Milwaukees Best Light, and Busch Light all taste the same to me.  Mich Ultra tastes a little better than that group but not much.

Mich Lite was the brand of choice of most of my crew.  Ultra pushed it off the shelves, it wasn’t so much Imbev making the decision as the consumers.  With the latest fad being seltzer, Ultra sales have slowed and Mich Light has been returning to the shelves.  Several of us had moved back to Michelob Light. I have a strong sense that most of them will look for another brand now.

Most people won't react to this kind of thing right away, but our society really amplifies the people who do. 
Bud Light is now going to be more identified with gay people and less identified with rural people and that will probably hurt their sales some in the short term.  Long term effects, who knows? There are a lot of gay bars and gay people may be looking for a cheaper option that is "for them"
