Etn all day baby. I would hate to be a fan of the other team watching etn work my defense.

I'm just happy ETN is clearly not a bust considering the last 20 years of Jaguar drafts. If two-thirds of a team's 1st rounders become above average starters, we're talking playoff contention year in and year out. The previous GMs drafted all manner of underachieving busts. Punch me in my virtual face if I become like a spoiled New England fan during the Brady era. I'm going to enjoy riding the Trevor train as long as it lasts.

You only get those guys for 5 years before you have to pay them like free agents. The longevity argument cuts the other way too. You can find DTs with 5 good years left in free agency. They cost a lot but they are available every year. You usually can't find RBs with 5 good years left in free agency, so it's more critical to find one in the draft.
My fellow southpaw Mark Brunell will probably always be my favorite Jaguar.

I'd rather have Barmore + a serviceable back than ETN + Fatukasi, because that would give the Jags flexibility to sign an edge rusher, extend Engram, etc. ETN has already missed a year of time. The Chiefs drafted their star running back in the 7th round last year, 2 rounds after we drafted our second RB in two seasons. We've spent a 1st, a 5th, and two 6ths for what will likely be the equivalent amount of production after the coming year. And yes, we signed Fatukasi to a ridiculously huge deal when we could be paying Barmore on a rookie one. “An empty vessel makes the loudest sound, so they that have the least wit are the greatest babblers.”. - Plato

The chiefs drafted a RB in the 1st rd the year before we drafted ETN. On top of that, ETN put up better numbers than their former 1st rd pick and their "star" RB combined. My position hasn't changed a bit. Running Back in the 1st is the correct play in very, very few situations. Taking one in the 1st the same year you have the #1 overall pick because you're terrible isn't one of them. The Chiefs took CEH in the year after they won the Super Bowl, not the year they were picking first. They could afford to make that pick because they were in a position of luxury. The fact remains that RBs are a bad pick in the 1st in almost every OTHER situation. “An empty vessel makes the loudest sound, so they that have the least wit are the greatest babblers.”. - Plato

If you are monitoring our effort to sign a rotational pass rusher from the remaining FA crop, this is a guy who played about 65% of the snaps in 11 games for the tacks - and what he is getting:
https://twitter.com/RapSheet/status/1646...51520?s=20 17 pressures and 4 sacks during those 11 games ^

It would make the market value of the remaining veteran pass rushers seem somewhat affordable.
