POLL: Name the Next Free Agent Signing

#41

A free agent of our own who played significant snaps last year is rehabbing injury and could be a contributor in the second half of the season.

Would you offer him a rotational DL deal?
Could probably land him for 3 or 4 mil per year on two year deal if my salary comparisons aren't too inaccurate.

Agreed. Plus he's a year ahead of anybody else system wise. If the price is right he's well worth it.

I would.  It's hard to imagine him making it back to 100% during the 2023 regular season after an achilles that late in the year tho, so it would be hard for me to get overly excited about that signing.  Maybe he's the missing piece of the D come playoff time??  I'd have to think of it like that.

Having a healthy rotation come December is a very good thing.Gotta be on the rise entering the playoffs. Not limping along.

Also - in those training photos, that kinda looks like Davon Hamilton working with Smoot. Can anyone confirm?

I would love to bring back Smoot.
Respect the game.  Play with a sense of urgency.

1.)  Take care of the ball.  Win the turnover battle.

2.)  It's all about 3rd down.  Win on 3rd down to win the game.

3.) Playmakers make plays.  The only reason that you put your uniform on is to make plays. In order to EARN your paycheck, you must make plays.

Learn from the great collapse of 2023.

He tore his Achilles, he might not play anything ever again. Let him heal up before you go sign him.

I ran into him and his family today at Pump It Up. Didn't bother him. He was leaving from a birthday party while we were coming in for our son's birthday party.

He's in good spirits. Humble man. Was good to see him still living his life. I wish him all the best. Would like to see them work something out.

He's far from finished. He's got that baby to feed just like I do. Ain't nothing going to stop him from coming back.

I certainly hope get can get back, it's just that we can't really sign him to a new contract until he's 100% (or as close as he can get).

True, but with that surgery I don't think he'll be field-ready until the fall so a new contract this offseason wasn't really a good idea IMO. Let's get him healthy, evaluate, and then pay the man.

I expect something closer to winter time before he's really ready, and he may not be 100% again before 2024, if ever.  I hope he comes back strong, but I don't see how we can count on it this year.
