Better hope we can rush the passer and cover WRs this year because as much as scoring is important in this league (and thankfully we have Trevor) - its even more beneficial being able to stop an opposing offense from scoring and controlling the clock against us.

Tank becomes the backup IMO.
Johnson and Hasty also backups and special teamers with Snoop looking like the odd man out.
Respect the game.  Play with a sense of urgency.

1.)  Take care of the ball.  Win the turnover battle.

2.)  It's all about 3rd down.  Win on 3rd down to win the game.

3.) Playmakers make plays.  The only reason that you put your uniform on is to make plays. In order to EARN your paycheck, you must make plays.

Learn from the great collapse of 2023.

I can field a defense for the second pick (no pun intended) but the one was just a real head scratcher.

You dream, General.  'We should be up by 20!'

Has to be defense the rest of the way. Maybe we get lucky and find a defensive gem.

Defense got plenty of love last year. Caldwell needs to shine in year two as a DC.

We have ETN and Hasty that already fill that role.

Bigsby is a complement to that style but that selection was head-scratchingly bad because we already had Snoop Conner that we traded up to select last year to fill the very same role.

There was more pressing depth issues we could have addressed instead of a backup runningback.

On a serious note, if Etienne were to go down for the season, would you feel ok with the other running backs still on the roster? I'm a little surprised by the pick, but Tank looked good in clips. I like the way he runs and if Etienne were to go down, I wouldn't say our running game is necessarily done for with a combination of Tank and Hasty or whomever else taking over.

Obviously they have a plan. Right now the draft is only half over. So it is a half baked plan? I'll wait to see the plan fully baked before commenting. Although from the heat on this board it should get baked pretty fast...

Maybe Defense not so critical, the other teams in our Division aren’t offensive powerhouses, plus they are going to be playing young QBs

Lets be honest, we're most likely going to see similar production out of a backfield with Hasty and Conner compared to Bigsby and Hasty. I'm open to being proven wrong, but holy crap that selection at that pick was just terrible imo.

And ETN going down will suck no matter what but boy oh boy do we have bigger positions to address as far as depth and talent replenishment on the defense.

Steelers have had a great draft

Washington makes a ton of sense for the Steelers. Pickett needs a guy with a big catch radius.

Dumb pick. We already have a running game by committee. They extended Hasty and signed Johnson. Those guys aren't slouches.

Worst draft Baalke's had easily. Harrison was a need pick to offset Cam's PED. But I like him. After that, Baalke is allowing GM Doug to take the wheel and add complementary skill players on offense. The defense is going to regress. One of the worst D-lines in the league. Good linebacking core. Average secondary. They're going to be in a lot of shootouts.

So did the offense.  Kirk, Zay, Engram, Scherff, Fortner

For those on the TE Washington train it's reported his knee is Balky pardon the pun.

I thought it would have been a defensive heavy draft.

What we now know, this team is all in on TL.

We are going to either live or die through our offense.

This team is all about offense.

It's being built to shoot it out with anyone.

No pass rush and can’t get off the field on third down. That’s the concern.

We drafted a lot of defensive players last year. Caldwell has got to find a way for guys like Walker and Lloyd to get more sacks.

If that's the case we could have Harrison, Torrence, and Washington.
